Something amazing and terrifying has happened in a park in Rowlett, Texas.
According to ABC News, thousands of spiders have banded together to make one single giant web in Lakeside Park. The web spans for hundreds of feet, and people are speculating that thousands of spiders are working on this feat.
Texas Master Naturalist, Jennifer Kolmes, made a trip to the park to assess the status of the web and the effects it is having on the park.
"The web was like a smorgasbord of mosquitoes and gnats," she told ABC. Kolmes also said that it is the best way to keep the pests of summer away.
While the web is a rarity, it is not a one-of-a-kind phenomenon. Back in 2007, there were reports of a similar occurrence, although it did not gain national attention from the media.
People are flocking to the park to take in the view. And Kolmes encourages those who live close to admire it while they can. She says even if you are not fond of the eight-legged creatures, the site is truly amazing.
You guys feel free to take the trip down there, the rest of us, however, are staying as far away as possible.
