Why You Should Spend A Day In Woods Hole
Teacheratsea.files.wordpress.com

I've lived in Falmouth for 13 years now, and I just started going to Woods Hole a couple of years ago. I couldn't believe that I hadn't been going more! There is so much to do and it's such a relaxing little town. No matter who you're with, there is always something to do. I recommend spending a day in Woods Hole if you live or are visiting Cape Cod, & here's why...

It's just a bike ride away. You can ride your bike down the Falmouth bike path and end up in Woods Hole! I love doing this because you don't have to worry about parking in the summer and it's a scenic, relaxing ride in. There are many places to park your bike so you can spend the day here.

There are fun things to do for free. Woods Hole has its own Aquarium. They do accept donations at the door. There are sea animals in closed tanks and in open tanks where you can get a good look and even touch them. All over the aquarium there are facts about these creatures. It's a fun and great learning experience. They usually have two deals in the outside tank and they even put on shows for visitors of the aquarium. Another free thing is the Woods Hole playground and baseball field. I go here with my friends to this day and it's still such a fun place for kids of all ages.

There is an amazing little bakery that sells this delicious food. They also sell other bakery items along with drinks for breakfast and lunch. Coffee Obsession: Cyber Café is another place much loved in Woods Hole.

The Knob. Want to take a hike? Or enjoy a beautiful view of the beach? Or just want a great photo? The Knob is the perfect place. Take a nature walk alongside the beach and head all the way to the end. This is a great place for the adventurous couples or families during the day time and for the romantic couples at sunset.

Restaurant Galore. Woods hole has many restaurants from casual to fancy and everything in between! Landfall Restaurant, Quickshole Taverna, Quickshole Hole Taqueria, Woods Hole Market & Provisions, Fishmonger Cafe, Pie in the Sky, Phusion Grille, Coffee Obsession: Cyber Café, Shuckers Workd Famous Raw Bar & Café, Captain Kidd Restaurant & Bar, & Jimmy's Sandwich Shop.

Book Lovers Woods Hole has it's own Public library along with a cute little book store as well.

Woods Hole has its own Steamship Authority. A ferry that will take you to Martha's Vineyard. If you can't find a whole days worth of things to do in the Hole then just take a trip to the Vineyard for the rest of the day.

Living so close, I plan on riding my bike and/or driving into Woods Hole a lot this summer to enjoy a popover at Pie In The Sky, visit the sea creatures at the aquarium, play some baseball at the park, eat my favorite BLT at the Landfall, and take a nice walk on the Knob. I love knowing that I can hop on a ship and meet up with my boyfriend on the Vineyard after his day at work and be able to ride back with him. Make sure you take a trip to the Hole on your next day off!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
