She will never judge you, for she only understands. She is the one person who will be on your side, the eternal best friend who will give you a hug and a smile on your worst days, your counselor. No matter the age difference, you will always share a union of favorite songs, favorite places and favorite faces because you will have grown up in the same house listening to the same tunes, and will have travelled to the same getaways every summer. Your enemies are her enemies, and her enemies are your enemies. And just the same, her friends are your friends, and your friends are her friends. With one another, naturally neither boredom nor tension will dare to reek, and your dates to the most mundane places can somehow be entertaining.
If there is anyone you can confide in or feel completely yourself around, it will be your sister. It's so easy to be offended by others, but when your sister tells you that new pink dress makes you look fat, you are anything but insulted. She is your fashion savior.
Of course, disagreements and petty fights are likely to occur anyhow like between all people, but sisters are the easiest people to forgive and sacrifice pride for, so conflicts end up bringing you even closer rather than pulling you apart. She is the only girl who you can legitimately call both your friend and family. She is also the only person who you can most openly tell your insecurities and secrets to, and be vulnerable around without feeling vulnerable at all. She listens, and listens to every last detail. And if you're trying to fool anyone including yourself, there's no way she wouldn't be able to point it out right away.
Living together means you eat the same foods, share the same experiences and family idiosyncrasies, go through hardships and change together. It also means that you fight for the shower and tolerate each other's singing concerts while in there. And because there are never cultural or gender boundaries, your similar backgrounds give you little space for any clashes in ideology or aggressive political discordances.
Here's a friend who can't help but finish your sentences (and sandwiches), a friend who just seriously gets you. It's so strange, yet familiar, how my sister and I will spring into random dance moves and mirror each other at the most arbitrary times, even if just for a moment. Then we'll eventually either go our own ways or laugh for a good several minutes, the latter which burns off the extra calories we weren't supposed to shove into our faces with a few hours ago, but we did. Together and secretly.
This relationship may sound a bit too perfect, but it's arguably the most perfect a relationship can get. I won't deny, my sister genuinely annoys the crap out of me sometimes, but is still my favorite person to mess with at the same time. Even if we gave each other the cold shoulder yesterday, she'll be there for me today, and I will be too.
