In light of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, actor Kevin Spacey is the most recent Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual harassment. The allegations began with fellow actor, Anthony Rapp, as he accused Spacey of making unwanted sexual advancements towards him when he was only 14-years-old.
It is no longer a secret that sexual harassment in Hollywood has become one of the most talked about issues of 2017. But what makes this case stand apart from the others is that the victims who have recently come forward were all teenagers when the reported harassment occurred.
Since then, more men have come forward accusing Spacey of unwanted advances, some also when they were still teenagers. Spacey has apologized
So let's address the two things that are wrong with this. First, sexual harassment is wrong and inexcusable, period, end of story. It does not matter about the person's gender, sexuality, or race, sexual harassment and assault should never be tolerated or celebratedThe second, Kevin Spacey knew that he is guilty. So much so, that in hope to redeem any sort of career he may have after the accusation he "came out" as gay. This man is such a coward that not only can he take responsibility for these accusations, but he has to hide under the rainbow flag of the LGBT+ community. The worst part? It actually worked. Most of the popular media outlets focused on Spacey's sexuality more than his horrific accusations.
Since then, gay actors like Zachary Quinto have spoken out against Kevin Spacey. And most of us LGBT members agree that because of this, Kevin Spacey has single-handedly pushed back the gay rights that we actually have been trying to accomplish.
So a HUGE thank you to Kevin Spacey. Not only have you just revealed that there are more sexually harassing Hollywood scum like you out there, but you also have given homophobic's more a reason to jump us, shout obscenities, and open the doors to conversion camps.
