What Is A Soulmate?

Soulmates can come to our lives in the form of family, friends, or romantic partners.

We’ve all heard of the term "soulmate". A soulmate is really defined in the word itself: a friend for the soul.

A soulmate is a friend who you feel such a deep connection with that you truly feel linked to the soul. The idea that you can feel such an extreme connection and bond with another person can be comforting to some and also completely bonkers to others.

Not everybody believes that we have soulmates, but those who do most likely have met and felt the connection that other believers talk about.

For those who do believe in soulmates, often their meanings are very subjective. Some believe we have one soulmate only, and some believe in many and other connotations of the idea.

For me, I believe in the idea of having multiple soulmates in our lifetime, but having just one twin flame.

I think that soulmates can come into our lives in the form of family, friends, or romantic partners. I believe that when you have found a soulmate of yours, the relationship you have with that person will be the absolute truest friend you will find.

They will be someone you can truly trust, someone who genuinely understands you in every sense, and someone you feel you were meant to know.

The relationships you have with your soulmates do not necessarily have to be romantic! Soulmates can truly be anyone you feel that sense of connection with, whether it is romantic or platonic.

It is not something that is very hard to understand. If you know the feeling, you know.

The other term I mentioned was a "twin flame". Not everyone who is familiar with soulmates is also familiar with twin flames. While soulmates are seen as our “perfect matches", twin flames are described as our “perfect mirrors". The relationship is very different, while much more intense.

A person's twin flame, like a twin, shares an identical soul. Some people may refer to the couple as “one soul, two bodies". Unlike soulmates, it is believed that we only have one twin flame in our lifetime.

The intense connection these two souls share, coming from the same energy, can make their relationship more difficult than a soulmate's. Twin flames are typically on-again-off-again, and they face many challenges along the way. However, the energy they share is inevitable. It will bring them together in the end like they are supposed to be.

As I mentioned, these terms can be subjective and defined by every person differently. It is a belief you can form opinions around with your own experience and research. It is something I have found very interesting since I was little, and continue to learn about as I grow.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
