S.O.S. - We Need Jesus
Gospel Herald

We’re afraid, worried, depressed, disappointed, joyful, excited, and peaceful at some point in our life. It doesn’t matter where you are this very moment in your life you need Jesus. Maybe you’re afraid. You’re afraid of what could happen or what won’t happen. Or you’re worried. You’re worried about everything you have no control over. Yet, you waste your time and your energy because so much is going on. Maybe you’re depressed, and right now you don’t know how you’re going to be okay again. But you are, you’re going to get through it! Maybe you’re disappointed. You have spent your life giving your best to everyone and time and time again you are left with nothing because people take you for granted. Maybe you’re joyful. Life has been good to you recently, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Be happy and enjoy your life. Maybe you’re excited. Something great has happened in your life and you had no idea that it would actually happen. Don’t take for granted what God has blessed you with. Maybe you’re peaceful. You are content and at peace with every situation and moment in your life. And it is great to be at the place in your life. There are so many seasons of life and so many moments where we need a saving grace. We need a higher power to swoop in and save the day, someone to rescue us from our pain and our insecurities. We need Jesus. Life is not easy, and we will experience bad times but we will also experience good times. It’s in those moments when we feel that our whole world is falling apart and that we need to be saved, but also when everything is going great but we forget who got us to that point in our life. If life were easy we would have no need for Jesus, but we need Jesus like we need water, food, and air. God is a necessity for life and He is in the details. He is in every moment, every teardrop, every victory, every laugh, every heartache, and smile. He has a beautiful plan for each of us. He knows who we are and who we are going to be. He knows where we are and where we will one day go. God knows, and not only that, God already knew before we were conceived in our mother’s womb. We have no reason to doubt what God is going to do. All that we can do is believe that everything is going to work out because God is in control of the situation. Even if the season of life we are in looks like it is never going to end. I promise you that it will, because when one door closes, God always opens another door. He is not going to forsake you or forget about you. Because He knows your thoughts and desires, and he knows what your intentions are. He understands that you’re having a hard time and He simply wants to help you. If God didn’t love us than He wouldn’t care if we are hurting or if we are in the best part of life. But He does love us and He does care because we are His children, we are His pride and joy, and we are His disciples. And we will make a difference, if we like it or not, so be watchful and pay attention to those around you. If you see someone hurting, pray for that person. If you see someone enjoying life and they’re happy, pray for that person. Because God is in control of every situation and you never know, but there could be someone praying for you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
