Sorry I...

An informal list of apologies that I think I owe some people.

Sorry I...

You and I can both understand that it is not easy pleasing everyone at all times. In fact, it's nearly impossible! Being that we are only human, we are going to experience some bumps in the road throughout our lives, helping us grow stronger and more aware of ourselves and our surroundings in the long run. Mistakes are made to be learned from, so if you goof up, don't be too hard on yourself! Most mistakes are not dire and can certainly be brushed off, so a simple apology to show those you care is enough to resolve the situation and let you both be on your merry way again. if you're a few minutes late for something, if you didn't do as well as you thought you would on an exam, if your friends got angry with you because you were voicing your opinion on something perhaps a bit too strongly, don't sweat it! These are the things that will not matter in a year from now, let alone a day from now. So for those who I have ever slightly wronged, this informal list of apologies is for you!

Sorry I was late, I was doing my makeup

Creating perfectly chiseled cheekbones and a winged eyeliner sharp enough to cut glass takes a good amount of time, but nonetheless, I am sorry that I was selfishly an hour late.

Sorry that I always forget my phone charger and ask others if I can borrow theirs

You're all too kind. Just be thankful that I don't consistently forget my toothbrush or something.

Sorry, Professor, I didn't study hard enough for this exam

Why do I always feel like my professor hates me after I do poorly on an exam? Surely they're not pleased with my lack of studying, but of course they don't hate me. It's just my guilty conscious, but I still feel like I owe you an apology!

Sorry I ate your leftovers

Absolutely unacceptable, I know. I will never commit such a crime again.

Sorry I didn't post any pictures from my vacation on Facebook (this one is for you, grandma!)

We've all gotten a, "Why haven't you posted anything on Facebook lately?!" from a relative, haven't we? I don't blame them, it's one of the easiest way to stay connected with people, however, I am sorry I haven't updated my status in a few days, grandma!

Sorry I zoned out and didn't listen to a word you said

Nothing is worse than when someone is telling me something and at the end I realize that I wasn't listening the entire time. I swear that bird I was watching wasn't nearly as important as your story. Stupid distractions.

Sorry I blew you off for a boy

We've all been there, done that. Make time for your significant other, but separate time for your friends, too. This one is so important and I have definitely learned the importance of it over the years!

Sorry I got snappy when we started talking about politics

...Let's never do that again.

Sorry I kept singing a song that I had stuck in my head and drove you crazy

I know, I'm annoying.

Sorry I used all the data, mom

Every single month I manage to use a stupid amount of data and then I get in trouble for it. I'm sorry, mom, I swear I won't check Twitter and Snapchat as often as I do anymore...

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
