Whether it’s looking up your own sign to figure out why you’re so emotional (it’s only because I’m a Cancer that I’m crying at this SPCA commercial right now), or Facebook-stalking that cute boy from the bar to find his birthday so you can determine if you two are astrologically compatible, we have all looked up the Zodiac signs at some point in our lives. But what if Zodiac personalities weren’t just assigned by birthdays?
Like the sororities on campus, each Zodiac sign has very specific personality traits. Since sorority chapters don’t have birthdays, we don’t have the privilege of knowing what their sign would be. However, based on each house’s very specific sisterhood and personality, it’s not too hard to take a guess at what they might be.
Alpha Delta Pi - Gemini
Geminis are witty and lively by nature, which is a perfect fit for the Alpha Delta Pi girls. The strength of ADPi’s sisterhood is in no way hurt by the fact that this is only their third year on campus. Outgoing and quirky, the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi know how to make any situation more fun.
Alpha Omicron Pi - Pisces
Pisces are dreamers with a strong imagination and nomadic habits. It’s no surprise that the ladies of Alpha Omicron Pi have been described as one of the most chill houses on campus. Pisces, one of the three water signs of the Zodiac, are spiritual beings ruled by their feelings. One of their strongest traits is compassion, part of what makes the AOPi sisterhood so strong.
Chi Omega - Aquarius
Aquarian zodiacs are known as dreamers and free spirits. The freedom to roam and explore is very important to this air sign. Chi Omegas have been described as the “hipster” chapter on campus, and they march to the beat of their own drum. Aquarians are also big humanitarians, and the girls of Chi Omega represent this well with their large involvement in their philanthropy, the Make A Wish Foundation.
Delta Delta Delta - Leo
Leos are natural-born leaders, confident in their talents and successes. The Tri Delt house is full of beautiful, confident girls, many with important leadership positions on campus. Leos also enjoy luxury and the finer things in life, but are generous when it comes to sharing those things, all traits that describe the women of Delta Delta Delta very well.
Delta Gamma - Virgo
Virgo, an earth sign, is known as being one of the most intellectual signs of the Zodiac. So, it’s no surprise they were chosen to describe Delta Gamma, who have boasted the top GPA on campus for multiple years in a row. Virgos are known as being intelligent and logical multi-taskers. Delta Gamma is full of classy women who know how to balance their studies while also kicking butt at almost all Greek-wide activities.
Kappa Alpha Theta - Libra
Libras are known as easygoing air signs, which is no surprise why they are most compatible with the sisterhood of Kappa Alpha Theta. One of the most diverse houses on campus, Theta girls are known for their laid-back personalities and happy-go-lucky attitudes.
Kappa Delta - Sagittarius
Sagittarians have been categorized as bold people who love freedom and knowledge. Kappa Delta is a group of very confident, talented girls, and they know it. Sagittarians are known for their blunt honesty, and this is no exception to the girls of Kappa Delta. Sometimes this can be mistaken for rudeness, but they just like to tell it how it is.
Kappa Kappa Gamma - Cancer
The Cancer is a nurturing sign whose first love is for their friends and family, so it’s no shock that Kappa Kappa Gamma is known for having such a strong and proud sisterhood. Because of their strong intuition, Cancers excel in jobs that have a lot of personal contact with others, so it makes perfect sense that KKG’s philanthropy has to do with teaching underprivileged kids how to read.
Phi Mu - Taurus
Taurus, an earth sign, is ruled by its emotions, and is known for their warm, loving personalities. The women of Phi Mu demonstrate these characteristics well, as they are known across campus for being one of the most sincere and kind-hearted houses at Ole Miss.
Pi Beta Phi - Aries
Aries, a fire sign, is very straightforward and full of energy. Pi Phi’s certainly know how to have fun, and are the first friends to call if you are looking to have a good time. However, like the Aries sign, Pi Phi’s are also very determined, displayed by their large involvement on campus and around the Oxford community.
