At the beginning of the year you were just happy not to be a freshman
And that you know where everything is and how everything works
You're significantly more confident then you were freshman year
Especially since you have a closer friend group
But during sophomore year, you may realize that you are in a slump
Even though you thought you would avoid it
It may seem like you have nothing but bad ideas
And that you are just working towards Christmas break
But then the year is only halfway over
And to make matters worse the cold weather makes your skin dry and your lips chapped
And then you are already looking forward to Summer break
But by February you feel like the year is going by too fast
And you get anxious knowing that there are only a few months left of being an under class-man
And once you're an upper class-man it will be time to get more serious
This realization makes it almost impossible to focus
It's much easier to procrastinate
And pretend that college is not almost halfway over
And try to enjoy each day with your fellow sophomores
Even though it is hard to remain positive through the awkward slump
Because the excitement of freshman year is gone and the anticipation of graduation has not yet arrived
But it is important to stay positive and not turn into someone you are not due to boredom or stress
Even though you feel burned out and tired of school
But one day you will look back on sophomore year as your favorite year of college because it was the least stressful and the most fun
Even though it was most likely uneventful, you started to become very mature and independent
And it was the year of college that you discovered who you are and who you want to become.
