Some songs never fail to give me goosebumps. The lyrics, the melody or simply just the voice can add that extra something it needs to chill you to the bone. Some of these songs make me cry, some just really left an impact after hearing it. A song does not have to be sad to make you feel something; it can also be a song with a powerful message. (Although most of the time those songs are the sad, slower songs)

Here is a list of songs, new and old, that really made me feel something. The genres differ immensely, so I'm sure everyone will find something they like.

Disclaimer: Some of these will be covers because, in my opinion, that version touched me more. I will mention it if it's a cover.

1. Demi Lovato - Skyscraper

In my opinion, this is one of the best songs ever made. It certainly belongs in my top five. Demi has made several heartwrenching songs as ''World of Chances'', ''For the Love of a Daughter'' & ''Believe In Me''. But this one always makes me go silent, so I can just enjoy the song.

Go on and try to tear me down;
I will be rising from the ground

2. Emeli Sandé - Breaking The Law

Just listen to this. You can't tell me this doesn't make you (almost) cry.

When the corridors and all the stairs are making you tired;
I will come for you; Set the building on fire

3. The Band Perry - Comeback Kid

A song that really shows that you are good enough and that giving up is not an option. I really love it.

I believe in what I am; I believe in what I was
I believe in losing you, I've never been given so much

4. Evanescence - Even In Death

This song is so captivating. It just pulls you in and doesn't let go till it's finished. Amy Lee's voice does that anyway, but even more on this one.

They don't know you can't leave me
They don't hear you singing to me

5. Natalie Lungley - You (Keaton Henson Cover)

If you must work,
Work to leave some part of you on this earth
If you must live, darling one,
Just live

6. Luke Sital-Singh - Benediction

This song always is so close to making me cry. Sometimes it succeeds.

I'm sorry we don't have forever
Ooh... but come die with me

7. Superfruit - Rise (Katy Perry Cover)

This is an amazing cover. It really brings across the message this song wants to send.

I must stay conscious
Through the madness and chaos

8. London Grammar - Rooting For You

Hannah's voice can take you to another world.

I'd love to always love you
But I'm scared of loneliness
When I'm, when I'm alone with you

9. Alicia Keys - Kill Your Mama

This song is just unbelievable. It really gets me every time. It's not up on Youtube, so you'll have to look it up yourself, but just wow.

How you gonna kill your mama
When only mama is gonna love you to the grave

10. Angel Haze - Battle Cry

Insane. This video, this song, those lyrics. Insane.

I woke up one Sunday morning, stopped believing in Jesus
Stopped believing in churches, I stopped believing in preachers
I realized I was a teacher, not just one of the heathens

11. Panic! At The Disco - The End of All Things

Just listen.

In these coming years
Many things will change

12. Lana Del Rey - Ride

You'll have to watch the entire thing to get the whole experience. Th monolog is epic.

Dying young and I'm playing hard
That's the way my father made his life an art

13. The Pretty Reckless - Under The Water

And though I screamed and I screamed, well, no one came running
No I wasn't saved, I wasn't safe from you

14. Brian Justin Crum - Creep (Radiohead Cover)

A great cover of a phenomenal song.

I don't care if it hurts,
I want to have control,
I want a perfect body,
I want a perfect soul,

15. NF - How Could You Leave Us

This one just leaves you shaken to the core. It honestly threw me off so much. If you like it, you Should Listen to his other songs too. You won't be disappointed. (Therapy Session, Can You Hold Me)

I wish you were here, mama, but every time I picture you
All I feel is pain, I hate the way I remember you

16. Broods - Freak of Nature

Dancing scars from long nights
I've been bruised by your light

17. Halsey - Sorry

One of the first songs, for me, to really describe the fear of loving someone and pushing them away because it scares you.

So I'm sorry to my unknown lover
Sorry that I can't believe that anybody ever really
Starts to fall in love with me

18. Carrie Underwood - Temporary Home

This is our temporary home, it's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passing through

19. Ilse Delange - Miracle

This Dutch artist makes many great songs and this one is one of my faves. You should really check her out.

You put me outside my safety-zone
Outside all the lines that made my home
To find out that no one really lives
Without giving what it is you give

20. Sia - Free Me

The message this video gives, along with the song of course, it just so great and touching. It really deserves more recognition.

I don't want to hold your gaze
I'm scared what I might see there

21. Rent - Without You

One of the greatest musicals with one of its best songs.

The tears dry without you
Life goes on but I'm gone
'Cause I die without you

22. Des'ree - I'm Kissing You

This always makes me cry. Always.

Pride can stand
A thousand trials
The strong will never fall

23. Boggie - Wars for Nothing

You see, Eurovision isn't only glitter and glamor. Sometimes things like this happen, and it's beautiful.

Do they deserveTo die for believing something else?
For having a face someone can’t stand

24. AURORA - Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)

Haunting with a strong message.

He holds my body in his arms
He didn't mean to do no harm
And he holds me tight

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
