Here we are again at the beginning of our second semester of college, and we are all stressed to the max. What better way than to chill to some music? Here is my January playlist. These songs WILL change your life.
1. Angela- The Lumineers
To kick off the new year, I'd like to start off the list with none other than a personal favorite of mine, The Lumineers. You guys know that i'm in love with their sound, and everything else about them, but this song really is a keeper. You've got to give it a listen for yourself. It is super mellow, and perfect for falling asleep. One of the lyrics in the song is, "Home at last." The song is just very nostalgic, and really hits home for me.
2. All We Ever Knew- The Head and the Heart
This song is another feel good song. It has a great beat and is perfect for jamming out in the car. It reminds me so much of summer, and happy times. This song will definitely be back in the rotation in the summer months.
3. Rosanna- Toto
I originally heard this song on American Horror Story, and I liked it. When I went back and listened to it more closely, I love it even more! The song is for sure an oldie, but a goodie! This song would also be great listening to in the car. It is a feel good song but also has some great sounds in it!
4. Daylight - Matt and Kim
This song is great for summer. It talks about people just not caring about what is happening. They talk about not caring about what happens in the daylight because it feels like home. I think I'm a little too eager for the summertime.
5. Pills N Potions- Nicki Minaj
This song has amazing bass in it, and I love it. Everyone should take a listen to this one. It reminds me of summertime and just hanging out with friends and relaxing.
6. Coming of Age- Foster the People
Another personal favorite of mine is Foster the People. I've loved this band from the beginning, but it's not till recently that I have gotten into their deep stuff. This song is exactly what it sounds like. It mentions one "coming of age". I know I can really relate to this song, and I think a lot of people in my position can relate to this song as well. It is a scary to know that I am slowly becoming more and more adult-like, but I would not change it for the world.
7. Drops of Jupiter- Train
This song really hits home for me. This song makes me miss my family, my hometown, and my high school friends. I am slightly biased due to the fact that this was one of my ballet songs that I danced to with my best friend of seven years. So nostalgic.
