For my first article for the Odyssey, I wanted to write about something that was personal to me but also important to everyone. So, I have decided to share my love of Dream Street with you all.

Dream Street was quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to the boy band industry and no one else will ever quite compare to the roughly three years of magic they brought the world from 1999 too 2000. Greg Raposo, Chris Trousdale, Frankie Galasso, Matt Ballinger and Jesse McCartney gave us 16 perfectly emotional songs that are perfect for a wide variety of life's struggles from break ups to finals week. Here's a look at eight Dream Street songs and why they are relevant to your college experience.

First, a tribute to a young JMac with a blond bowl cut

1. "Jennifer Goodbye"

The perfectly emotional ~goodbye~ to the one that got away (or the one who opens your snaps and never responds).

Relatable Lyric: "Don't wanna figure out why anymore/Don't wanna be your fall back guy anymore/I'm gonna take care of me"

2. "Someone To Hold Me Tonight"

Poignant lyrics that describe the eternal struggle of finding a date to your sorority formal.

Relatable Lyric: "I just don't understand/Can't help the way I feel/It's crazy but it's true"

3. "Feel The Rain"

For finals week when you've survived solely on caffeine and haven't seen your bed in a week and you're starting to forget what sleep feels like.

Relatable Lyric: "I call your name, I miss you, can't you see/I'll take the blame, we should never be apart/Tell me what can I do to get you back into my heart"

4. "Matter of Time"

When break is four days away, but you still have three papers to write and four tests to take. When those four days seem like an eternity.

Relatable Lyric: "They say that all good things/Will come to those who wait/And if we believe in each other/I know we can make it together"

5. "Gotta Get The Girl"

For when you find your future Little.

Relatable Lyric: "I just gotta get the girl, get the girl/Gonna make her mine"

6. "Dream On"

A calming song to listen to after you've taken all of your finals and you are patiently and anxiously awaiting your fate (your grades).

Relatable Lyric: "Well, we've come a long long way/And there's no turning back... 'Cause every cloud has a silver lining/Just believe that the sun will shine"

7. "I Miss You"

Although technically a breakup song, this song is also applicable to the feelings you experience when you're home on break and away from your friends and college in general.

Relatable Lyric: "Although you're so many miles from me/I just want you to know I could never forget you"

8. "It Happens Every Time"

This iconic Dream Street song also happens to be their first single. It also describes pretty accurately your relationship with food in college. Stress eating, for the win.

Relatable Lyric: "Let me take you by the hand and/Walk you down the Milky Way/'Cause you make me feel I'm so alive/Though I promise baby/I hear a silly love song in my heart"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
