13 Songs To Help Pump Or Cheer You Up

Sometimes there are days when you just need a pick-me-up to make it through the day. For some people coffee is the go-to for an off-day, others will stay inside, but for me it's music. Whenever I just need to make it through the day, I put on the songs that make me want to hold my head up high, to dance around in my room by myself, and some just plain weird. Here is a list of some of the best cheer me up songs.

1. "Lonely Town"

Despite the name, this song is a dance song by Brandon Flowers, with an old feel to it. The music video consists of a cassette player that a girl home alone uses to listen and dance around. The song came out in 2015 but it's still a favorite a mine for dancing around in my dorm when no one's there.

2. "Sorry Not Sorry"

This song by Demi Lovato is the song everyone needs. Not only does it have a great beat but it also has a good message, cause hey guess what I'm not sorry for being me.

3. "Margaritaville"

Jimmy Buffet (man on the left) makes what can best be described as beach music but for whatever reason, I love this song. This song is just a fun song that always makes me feel like I am on vacation on a beach somewhere.

4. "I'll Find You"

This song is by Lecrae featuring Tori Kelly, but it's one of those songs that is just saying I need a little help but I'm getting there. It always helps me get through the day, while also having a good beat with great lyrics.

5. "Glorious"

If you can't already tell, this one is by Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey. I would highly recommend watching the music video as it stars him and his grandma on her birthday. Macklemore takes his grandma everywhere she wants to go for the day.

6. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"

This one is fairly obvious and of course it's by the amazing Marvin Gaye. It's a classic and should be on everybody's feel-good song list.

7. "Home"

This song is a new one, that just recently came out for the movie 'Bright' but it's a song that I love listening to especially when I am homesick. This is a triple collaboration between Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha, and X Ambassadors.

8. "The Tide"

Although many people will be turned away by the fact it's a song by Niall Horan, the lyrics are him asking you 'not to let the tide come take me[him]". I think everyone can relate to it and despite the lyrics, it isn't a slow song.

9. "Dying For You"

This song despite its title is actually very much a dance song. It's by an artist known as Otto Knows featuring the famous YouTube violinist Lindsey Stirling.

10. "Holding On To You"

Being a Twenty One Pilots song, it is a little weird. Despite its strange beat the lyrics and vibe you get from this song can't be denied. It's a great pump-up song.

11. "Thank You"

Just an old popular song by MKTO, which is basically saying hey the world's screwed up and the older generation is at fault.

12. "Hell on Heels"

This is a definite girl power song by the Pistol Annies, but I highly recommend listening to it if you need an empowerment song.

13. "I'll Make a Man Out of You"

Of course, we all need a little Disney too. Mulan's "I'll Make a Man out of You" is the perfect feel good song, or pump-up song. I don't know one person who can resist belting these lyrics out as loud as possible.

I hope that this list has given you a few ideas for future reference. I also hope that if your having a bad day, or just need some good feeling music that this was a help.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
