We all know a good summer song when we hear one. Maybe it's a song about summer love, a beach, bonfires, or just a really good dance song. These are the soundtracks to our summer's, and this summer our favorite artists didn't disappoint. Across all genres there have been amazing songs that instantly grab the listener. So now, music fanatics, here's my top 10 list of the best summer 2016 songs.

1. "Closer," by Chainsmokers Feat. Halsey

I couldn't go anywhere this summer without hearing this song, and I'm totally okay with that. This upbeat duet has quite possibly the catchiest chorus with it's disjunct melodic contour. It's hard to not start dancing when this song comes on, and of course Range Rovers will forever remind me of this summer jam.

2. "Rich," by Maren Morris

Hero is Maren Morris' debut studio album and it is full of sassy, sweet, and painfully honest tracks. "Rich" is second track off this album, and this sassy comeback song immediately makes you start to sway side to side with that feel good vibe.

3. "This Is What You Came For," by Calvin Harris Feat. Rihanna

This collaboration with Calvin Harris and Rihanna was proven to also have Taylor Swift on the track. Swift shocked the world with her pseudonym "Niles Sjoberg," and the song became even more popular. This stellar song was an instant dance hit and conquered the charts.

4. "Treat You Better," by Shawn Mendes

"Treat You Better," was the first single released off of Mendes' sophomore album, Illuminate. The music video that accompanies this song paints the story of a jealous man who can't stand to see his girl being mistreated.

5. "Setting The World On Fire," by Kenny Chesney Feat. P!nk

Kenny Chesney never disappoints when it comes to a good summer song. This is the one that you want to blast from your radio with the windows down. It's all about having a reckless, adventure of a summer. This feel good song encompasses a confident story of unapologetic individuality.

6. "Can't Stop The Feeling," by Justin Timberlake

It's JT and it's the song that instantly makes you want to dance. This song was featured on the Trolls movie soundtrack and was also nominated for three Teen Choice Awards. Turn up this song and start dancing!

7. "Sit Still Look Pretty," by Daya

Can you say power song? This electric pop song has been a major favorite all summer. This song is all about female empowerment and it's fantastic. Did I mention it's super catchy? Because it is! Absolutely in love with every lyric in this relatable song.

8. "From The Group Up," by Dan & Shay

This song has been a country chart topper for the past few weeks and it's not hard to see why. This romantic, dreamy love song is off the album Obsessed, their second studio album. The music video is a tear-jerker, so fair warning.

9. "Wasted Time," by Keith Urban

Keith Urban's Ripcord album has managed to produce several hits including "Wasted Time." This country song is about normal teenage years that just slipped through time, which turned out to be the most important, nostalgic ones.

10. "Waste A Moment," by Kings Of Leon

Just when you thought summer was over, the music industry blessed us with another fantastic song. Even better, KOL is back and will be releasing their 12th studio album titled Walls on 10/14.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
