6 Songs That Will Motivate You For Miles

A great playlist is essential to get you out the door and make the most out of your run.

The moment you press "play" and your sneakers kiss the pavement, the outside world is muted and your workout playlist is the only sound in your mind. There's no better feeling than clearing your mind and sweating out your stress to the sound of a motivating and catchy workout playlist. If you want to avoid that awful break in your momentum to change the song, keep reading for my favorite music to enjoy during a run.

1. "Tight" by Kaskade

When I'm mid-way through my run and looking for a distraction from my urge to give up, I play this song. I'm not much of an EDM person, but this song is definitely an exception. The catchy beat and repetitive lyrics will have your feet moving and your thoughts out of sight.

2. "Say Less" by Dillon Francis

"Say Less" is more of an energetic and aggressive song for those last sprints to the water fountain. The best way to describe it is EDM mixed with rap. This song is great for starting off or finishing your run on a high note.

3. "Take Me Home" by Cash Cash ft. Bebe Rexha

If you're not a huge runner, I definitely recommend playing this classic track during your workout. The uplifting beat and lyrics will not only motivate you but make your run much more enjoyable. It's easy to become lost in your head and even forget to take breaks when running to this song.

4. "Ain't That Why - Skytech Remix" by R3HAB and Krewella

If you're looking for a rare EDM song that isn't composed of a few words and mostly weird sounds, look no further. I love running to "Ain't That Why" because of it's uplifting lyrics and catchy beat. It's definitely in my top workout songs, saved for days when I need an extra push.

5. "Tell Me You Love Me - Dave Aude Remix"- Demi Lovato, Dave Aude

I may be biased because I'm a Demi fan, but it's hard to not enjoy a strenuous workout when this song is blasting through your headphones. If you like the original version of this song, you will LOVE the remix. It's relatively similar to the original song, but the beat is a bit faster and energetic.

6. "High You Are" by What So Not, Branchez

Because of its light-hearted tone and upbeat lyrics, this song never fails to put me in a good mood. "High You Are" has been on my workout playlist for years, and will probably stay there- it's a classic bop. If you haven't heard this one in a while, or at all- don't pass up adding this to your running playlist.

If your playlist is stopping you from enjoying your run, you no longer have an excuse. These six songs are sure to spice up your Spotify and keep you motivated for miles to come. Add them to your playlist, and thank me later.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
