12 Songs For The College Road Trip
Her Campus Wilfrid Laurier University

The day has finally come. You've been waiting to make this trip with your friends for what seems like forever. Not that top 40 stations aren't great and all, but after a few hours of listening to the same music, you’re ready for something more exciting. It’s time to break out your road trip playlist! If you aren’t sure what to put on your playlist, here are 12 top hits for the ideal road trip with the squad.

Rich Homie Quan -- "Flex"

You have finally gotten on the road and the squad is feeling pretty good. It's time to break out your hype song to get the party started. Cue "Flex."

Paramore -- "Ain't It Fun"

College is your first shot at being out in the “real world.” “Ain’t It Fun” perfectly describes what it is like to be on your own and trying to figure out what life is all about with your friends.

Fetty Wap -- "Trap Queen"

OK, who doesn't love Fetty? You're cruising, the bass is kicking, and everyone is jammin' to Fetty like "Hey, what's up, hello."

A Day To Remember -- "If It Means A Lot To You"

This is the perfect angst filled sing-along song. Regardless of your taste in music, you can all sing at the top of your lungs to this angsty teenage anthem.

Yellowcard -- "Ocean Avenue"

This is another great song that everyone knows the words to and can sing along with!

The Neighbourhood -- "Sweater Weather"

Smooth, chill, and vaguely sexy is the best description for "Sweater Weather." With a good sound system, this is the perfect chill song for when the squad needs to mellow out.

Taylor Swift -- "Shake It Off"

The entire purpose of a road trip is to escape from your worries for a little while and have some fun. Shaking it off to Taylor Swift might not be a bad idea.

Lil Wayne -- "Bitches Love Me"

In life, you lose some friends to make room for new ones. When you are surrounded by your best friends, you feel pretty invincible and know that you can always count on them. Take a minute to celebrate your down-for-anything friends with this one.

Panic! At The Disco -- "Hallelujah"

If there was ever a song that made you want to stand up and clap, it's this one. Panic! will have your whole crew riding on a high before the end of this song.

Rascal Flatts -- "Life Is A Highway"

Does this one really need an explanation? There's nothing but you, your friends, and the open road.

Eddie Money – “Take Me Home Tonight”

Everyone needs a throwback to the 80’s on his or her road trip playlist. So, throw it back with “Take Me Home Tonight” and appreciate the smooth sound of the saxophone solo.

The Wanted -- "Glad You Came"

As you ride off into the sunset, look at your friends and savor the moment. Whatever your destination may be, the trip would not be the same without the people sitting in the car with you. Let them know that they have changed your life.

Enjoy your road trip!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
