有时候,放下才是得失之间最好的处世之道。

在非洲,土人通过了解狒狒的习性后,用一种奇特的狩猎方法捕捉狒狒。他们在一个固定的小木盒子里面装上狒狒爱吃的坚果,然后在盒子上开一个小口子刚好够狒狒的前爪伸进去。狒狒一旦抓住坚果爪子就伸不出来了。

人们总会嘲笑狒狒的愚蠢,为什么不松开爪子放下坚果逃命,不肯放下已经到手的东西。但是,审视一下我们自己,也许就会发现,并不是只有狒狒才会犯这样的错误。

如果骄奢是烦恼,舍去较慢,不就得到清凉了吗?如果妄想是虚妄,舍去妄想不就能得到真实了吗?如果挂碍是痛苦,舍去挂碍,不就能得到轻松了吗?

是的,放下是一种人生态度,是一种无畏的勇气,是一种淡泊的正气,是一种舍得的大气。

放下尊严,是一种无畏的勇气,能屈能伸。军事家韩信,早年不过一介乞丐,落魄街头,整日以乞讨为生,瘦如干柴。有一次,竟受到一名少年的凌辱,区区九尺之身,从胯下走过。他肯放下尊严,忍受胯下之辱。可他并没有因此而自卑,放弃。十年寒窗苦读,终于青年得志,身居将帅之职,率领三军,百战不殆,使得敌营内外对他闻风丧胆,帮助刘邦成就帝业,自己也被封为王侯。大丈夫能屈能伸,放下尊严,又何尝不是一种令人敬畏的姿态呢?

放下名利,是一种淡泊的正气,当进当退。若不深谙此理,莱特兄弟就不会在发明飞机成为世界知名人物后,把声名放在心上,只是默默地工作,不写自传,不参加无意义的宴会,也从不接待新闻记者。若不深谙此理,“力学之父”的牛顿就不会在创立了微积分,发现了光谱,提出了万有引力定律后把功劳归于他人,他谦虚地说:“如果我所见的比笛卡尔要远一点,那是因为我站在巨人的肩膀上的缘故”。即使身为举世瞩目的名人,也能当进当退。而正是他们放下名利,才是他们人性最光辉的一面。

放下财富,是一种舍得的大气,有舍有得。“良田万顷,日食几何?华厦千间,夜眠几尺?”石崇生前万般积聚,富可敌国,但是到了最后却死无葬身之地,他到死都将那些财物抓紧不放,可是拥有财物而不会用,和无用又有什么不同。然而像冯援三财与民,让孟尝君拥有人心,像爱迪生将发明创造所得的专利用于为众生谋福,像松下幸之助将企业所有应于用于教育文化上让社会蒙利有怎不是个舍得而又造福于他人的大气呢?以舍为德,自然就会得到人生的一番新境界。

生活就是不断地放下。走路时,不舍去后面的一步,便无法跨出向前的一步;公园里的花草树木,若不丢弃剪去的枯枝败叶,就无法长出嫩叶的新芽;写文章时,不划去冗长的藻词,便无法形成精赅的短文……放下吧,放下是一种智慧。

千江有水千江月,万里无云万里天。有时候,放下才是得失之间最好的处事之道。

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine.
