According to Urban Dictionary the term "in love" means: loving someone despite their faults, want to remain with them for the rest of their life.
I asked three total strangers what being "in love" to them means. Here are their stories.
Stranger #1, Female
"Okay so their are loads of cliches about what it feels like to be in love. But, the best way that I can describe it is that you ALWAYS want to be with that person. Looking in their eyes makes you melt. It brings you such an indescribable happiness. Smelling their cologne is better than the smell of fresh chocolate chips or your favorite food. Spending time with them makes you feel like you found a heaven on earth. There's just a state of pure happiness. Some people might call that "obsession" but the reality of the situation is that if you can live without seeing them and be fine, it probably isnt the right person or "soul mate" for you."
This has that point of view where you can tell they are both in love with each other. Just reading that gives you pure happiness.
Stranger #2, Female
"Oh.. being "in love"? What can I say? It feels like hell on earth honestly the person you fall for can see it and they just watch you pour yourself into them. It sucks. They know that you are falling more deeply and madly in love with them every day and all they do is act totally different towards you. They act like they never cared or wanted you. I am in love right now and I've never been so happy in my entire life. I don't know. I believe love is the most complicate thing in the world.
As soon as I read this i started to tear up. I definitely know the feeling of putting all of yourself into to someone with little to nothing in return. The way that she describes love as being "the most complicated thing in the world" has never been more true.
Stranger #3, Male
"Being in love and finding your partner is like two jagged edges fitting perfectly together. By themselves, the flaws and dents in the edges are left exposed, but when the jagged edges come together the pattern of the flaws complement each other and transform what was once an imperfect pattern into a perfect pattern. The feeling of love seems to be an intrinsic part of ones humanity, a part which makes one feel whole in our heart and soul."
Beautiful.
Oh, did you want to hear my thought on love? Why, sure I'll tell you.
Love, as a purely romantic emotion, seems to have the uncanny ability to sneak up on a person and hit oneself like a train at any given moment; as a purely charitable emotion, love seems to develop from an extremely tight bond with another person. The concept of deciding to love someone seems, at first, superficial and ridiculous, yet, when one truly contemplates this idea, one comes to the realization that this concept is almost more important than the pure emotion of love.
