Having my best friend as my roommate has been the best thing that's happened to me since being at school. There are so many perks to having her as my roommate but here are just a few:
1. You always have two closets.
College dorms are absolutely tiny and it’s so difficult to bring everything you want to wear throughout the year and fit it in your closets. Having another closet with similar style to your own makes things much easier. Plus, it’s like you're always shopping for two when you're always asking each other what to buy because you both know the other person will end up stealing it.
2. They’re always there for emergencies.
Whether it’s forgetting to turn off your straightener or a light or just needing someone to be there for you on your bad days, your best friend is almost always in your room to help you out. Especially if you've going out and had a bad night, they're always there the next day when you wake up and need to be reminded of everything that happened and knowing she was there with you the whole time.
3. You always have someone to hang out with.
When you're bored and have nothing to do, there’s always someone to go to eat with you or even just do homework with you. Even if you have nothing to say to each other, it’s just nice to have someone you're so close with who’s around you.
4. They’ll always be honest with you.
When asking how you look right before you leave they’ll never lie to you just to make you feel better. My roommate always tells me if my hair looks bad or if my make up is too over the top. Even though sometimes I want to kill her for it, I know I should be thankful that I have someone who feels so comfortable with me to not think they're making me feel bad.
5. You pretty much do everything together.
Especially if you're involved in the same clubs, you pretty much find yourselves always together. It’s so nice to have someone you really like always around you because it keeps your spirits high and keeps someone so similar close to you.
