I am so tired of trying to be something I am not. What is the point? Whether it is when I do my makeup or wear my hair different someone always has something to say, “Why did you do your makeup that way? It looks stupid," “Your face isn’t contoured. It makes your face look fatter," “Why do you never do your hair? You need to do your hair otherwise it looks bad.” These are the words I hear on a daily basis.
Do you know why I did my makeup that way? Because I like it. I like the way I do my makeup. I am not a Barbie Doll. I am not made to look like the rest. Neither is anyone else. We are all made different. If we were meant to be like a copy then we would have been.
So what. I didn’t curl or straighten my hair or make it silver. I didn’t do it because I didn’t want to. Yes, I think it looks pretty but I do not want to be that person. I am not the same as everyone else. I can’t be like you because I am not you.
I am me. Why do we struggle to be exactly like another person? Do you know what the effects of that will be? Discouragement and self loathing. You will feel that way because what you are trying to do is impossible.
No one will ever be identical to anyone. Not even twins. The reason for that is we are all different. Sure we can act similar and look similar, but we will never be that person. We can change all we want and never be them. We were made with a separate thought process, different genes, and a different spirit.
You can waste you time and money on something that will never happen, or you can figure out who you are. Stop trying to be somebody you’re not because you are not them. You are you and nobody else.
