Ever since my trip to the Botanical Gardens, I began to view things differently. During the trip, I was astonished at the beauty of nature. The sun was shining and the leaves had already turned orange. I felt warm on the inside. I loved the cool breeze and the bright and vibrant colors all around me. And then I realized how little I actually stopped to take a look at the beauty all around me.
And that got me thinking. As a person who tends to stare off into a vast space of nothingness frequently, I realized that if I barely observed my surroundings, others probably haven't noticed the beauty in their surroundings either. To me, I believe that the cause of this may be because of technology. Nowadays, everyone is so focused on their phones and computers rather than going outside and breathing in fresh air.
Right now, even as I stare out my window I can see all of my neighbors' houses in a neat and organized layout. Everything is absolutely beautiful. The dimming sunlight shining through my windows as I look at this tall and lanky bare tree under the light. The leaves are almost gone; each branch has its own unique style. I can see how each branch has its own stiff feeling; they are thin and complex. To me, it kind of reminds me of a bad hair day. Although the scenery outside does have a more isolated and cold feeling, I still find nature beautiful. It almost makes me want to go outside and breathe in the fresh air and take pictures of the beautiful wonders of this world.
Still don't believe me? Here are some pictures I took recently during my Thanksgiving break.
I took this picture of a beautiful and vibrant red leaves barely hanging onto this tree. To me, these red leaves show me how beautiful nature is. The way one can also see a tint of purple on these leaves somehow convey a message to me: "There's more that meets the eye." Naturally, one would quickly identify these leaves as just red. But to me, I se a tint of purple and love inside each leaf dangling on the tree.
Just glancing at this picture makes me feel warm. At the very top, you can view the bright sun shining onto this small leaf hanging onto the tree. It's almost as if the sunlight is giving hope and encouragement to the leaf. I found this picture especially fascinating.
I'm not entirely sure what went through my mind when I took this. But the way this fire hydrant looks shouted aesthetic to me. The way you can see the small grainy particles on the hydrant in addition to the rust slowly forming on the edge of the fire hydrant. This provides me a sense of coolness. Maybe it's the water that is inside, but to me it feels cool. Perhaps it is the blue shadow on the fire hydrant. Regardless, I find this absolutely beautiful especially the way the rust forms on this fire hydrant. It shows me the natural cycle of nature.
To anyone, this can probably look like a bad photograph taken. To be honest, it actually was. I probably forgot to focus in on that large leaf. I was even going to trash this picture. But looking at it a second time, I observed how beautiful this picture actually is. It's almost as if this leaf is almost on the brink of death yet the other leaves are behind the large leaf and encouraging it to persevere. To me, it teaches me a lesson to never give up hope. Because even if the leaves fall, they will always come back next year. But either way, as long as you got your friends, you're practically unstoppable.
To me, these small simple things show me the beauty of life. It shows me to not disregard anything. Even a small particle of dust will be significant in my eyes.
Something is not nothing.
Every single thing in this world is beautiful in its own unique way.
