Try Something New; Change Your Life

All it takes is one decision.

Everything new I ever tried began with a belly full of nerves and palms full of sweat. It didn’t matter if it was a new food, a new sport, a new hobby or a new boy! I was so anxiety-ridden. I felt no different when it came to my writing. I always knew I had a soft spot for it and wanted to do more than the occasional “in class essay” on a book I never bothered to read. I love getting lost in the words and feeling like I’m in a completely different world. With each letter I type, I go deeper and deeper into this realm of uncertainty. What’s going to come out of my head and onto my keyboard next? That’s the beauty of it. I like letting my mind go wherever it wants to without any rules or regulations…without holding back.

I believe that’s how we need to be living our lives. We’re all overly politically correct and rule-based. What happened to just doing what makes you happy and going with the natural flow of life? I agree that rules are needed to keep our planet intact and keep everyone safe, but I don’t think we should question what we want to go after simply because someone tells us it’s going to be hard or a long journey. If it’s important to you, fight for it. You can accomplish your dreams, big or small, while still respecting everyone and everything around you.

“It’s about dipping your toe into the cold, deep sea because you’ll never walk on water if you don’t get out of the boat.”

I know that fear can be debilitating. So much so that it stops us dead in our tracks sometimes. But ignore the fear, ignore the belly full of nerves and wipe off the sweat in your palms. People might call you crazy- so be it. Be the crazy person that goes after their dreams. That person that goes after that something new. The world is going to judge you no matter what you do, so live your life the way you want to live it. You can change what you want to change and do what you want to do. Focus on your happiness and achieving whatever you want.

Remember- you’re one decision away from a completely different life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
