Every aspect of your life matters, but have you ever looked back over the years and thought about what truly made you happy or just overall put you in a good mood? I bet you it was all those little moments that made you smile. So live for the little things, and stop stressing. I can guarantee that overall you will be a happier person.
Live for the nights you get to climb into your bed with freshly washed sheets. I know that night you felt like you were sleeping on a cloud.
Also, the nights were you stayed up until sunrise with family and/or friends talking about past memories and your goals and aspirations.
When the sun is rising—as well as when the sun is setting—live for the colors in the sky that do not belong. Be thankful for your ability to see those amazing views.
Live for the days when you are surrounded by people who love and cherish you. Time spent with family and good friends is never wasted.
Treasure the times spent laughing so hard that your stomach hurt and tears were falling from your eyes.
Remember the long, hot summer nights spent around a bonfire, catching fireflies, and playing "ghosts in the graveyard." Cherish those memories where you were able to act like a kid all over again.
Appreciate the times you walk outside to the smell of freshly cut grass and spring all around you. Be thankful you are able to smell all those blooming flowers.
Or that beautiful day after a long cold winter where you are able to drive with your windows down and music blaring after what seems like months.
As well as when your favorite song is coming on the radio the second you get into your car.
Live for the moments you see a stranger smiling and beaming with happiness. Or when someone doesn't seem so happy, compliment them and see their face light up all because of your kind words.
Treasure the mornings you get to wake up to the person you are in love with and the moments that made you fall in love.
Remember how proud you were of yourself when you received an awesome grade on a test that you thought you completely bombed.
Or the satisfaction you felt after you passed a hard level on a game you have been working on for months.
Live for the long days that you are able to come home, change into pajamas, and pour yourself a glass of wine.
Remember the smell of opening a brand new book with pages just waiting to be read, which you instantly fall in love and cannot seem to be put down.
Finally, live for the moments you see your mom smile. Tell her how much you love and appreciate her, she needs to hear it once in awhile.
Life is made up of so many aspects, but focusing the little things will make life seem a little less scary. So, I challenge you to live for the little things in life, and I promise that if you accept, you will come out a happier, kinder person.
