What Is A People Watcher

8 Things You Need To Know About A People Watcher Because It Is Way Cooler Than It Sounds, Trust Me

Listening and never ignoring, Watching but never judging, they are People Watchers/Listeners.

We all know someone that stays quiet no matter what happens and when you ask them for advice, they always give you some. Even if I have no advice to give, I will give you feedback because of the amount of information I have gathered about you from different sources. You might be thinking, "What could you know about me?" Well, let me be around you for an hour and I could tell you or let me "accidentally" sit behind you in the cafeteria and I can tell you a lot.

1. We are always watching.

We are a type of people that do not interject into a conversation because we only want the truth and nothing distorted. In an environment where a people-watcher is alone surrounded by people is the perfect opportunity to listen in or watch a few people between your time.

2. We probably know more than you.

Talking is an action you take that disables you from listening to multiple conversations at once. As a people watcher, we have mastered the art of absorbing all the information being said no matter how many conversations are going on. One day I overheard a story and then a few weeks later I heard the same story from another person with a different point of view. I can tell you that these two people should not be friends anymore because the stuff I heard... hurtful as hell. They were both talking shit about each other.

3. We are probably the wisest because we know everything.

Trust me on this. If you are friends with a people watcher, you wouldn't even know. Around their friends, they are normal and talk with them while drowning everything else out because they are not alone. They have to be vigilant while they are with their friends but around strangers, I can tell you that they are always listening. If you have anything you need advice on, we are the people that you should talk to. By nature, most of us are kind, sweet but sassy loners because we are usually alone when we listen in or watch you.

4. If you are mysterious, we will make a story up about you to fill in the blanks.

Don't try to be mysterious because it only makes people like us make something up about you like that you are actually a police officer undercover at a college to find out... I don't know, to find a man that has been stealing panties or something. It will be related to anything we hear.

5. We might be staring at you if your talking.

I say might because there are some that are able to do two things at once like writing a paper or doing research. We while doing that, we are able to multi-task and hear everything that is going on. But there are some people-watchers that like to stare at people when you are talking because, in our mind, we are then able to make a storyboard with your appearance as the main character.

6. You must know that your "private stories" you talk about in public are not private to us.

We may be listening on the other side of a wall but we are still listening. Just think that "The walls have ears" or something but we are always watching and listening. If you look around and see only a person with earbuds in, they are probably listening because in between songs they probably heard your story and invested in it.

7. We wish we had popcorn 24/7.

We may look bored or something with our resting neutral face but I can assure you that on the inside, we are hoping to get an interesting story and to be entertained by you and your stories. It is the perfect time to chow down on some popcorn and wait for the story to get better. Personally, popcorn is a bit... I prefer candy because who doesn't love eating while they are watching a movie, right?

8. Our people watching is harmless.

Pee Wee Herman

You don't even know we exist. We are a type of people that when you are around others, you always think they are not listening and they might not be but if they are then you wouldn't even know because who wants to ask someone, "are you listening?" to a stranger? Nobody, it's awkward and makes you look like you think you are so great that someone has to be listening.

My Top 10 Youtubers To Watch When You're Bored!

If you need something to do, check out these YouTube channels!

Youtube: the best place to go when you're laying in bed bored.

I've been watching Youtube for as long as I could remember. I would start at a Jonas Brothers video and end up watching tornado chasers. I could never tell you how I got there, but with Youtube, it's possible.

I spend a lot of time watching videos and catching up on the lives of some of my favorites. I watch make-up and hair tutorials on a daily basis and if I have some time, I'll watch a couple of Vlogs. I'll also watch videos when I need a good laugh.

So if you are bored, here are my top 10 favorite Youtubers to watch.

10. Alphie Deyes : "Pointless Blog"

Alfie is a British Youtuber. Along with his Vlogs, Alfie has a gaming channel and a main channel where he posts collabs with other Youtubers. I usually just watch his Vlogs, but I've seen a few of his other videos and they are definitely worth the watch!

Here are his three channels!

9. Zoe Sugg: "Zoella"

Zoe is also a British beauty and fashion Youtuber. She is also a Vlogger and has two channels. She is most known for her make-up tutorials. Zoe is also the author of the "Girl Online" series.

Here are her channels!

8. Kian and JC

Both boys have main channels, but I mostly watch their collab channel. They post videos of themselves doing challenges for the most part. The other part is usually them just talking to the camera. They are hilarious and can make me laugh any day.

Here is their channel!

7. Tess Christine

I just recently started watching Tess, but her videos are mostly hair and make-up tutorials and also fashion videos. She occasionally posts travel vlogs as well.

Here is her channel!

6. Tyler Oakley

Known for his Q and "Slays," Tyler Oakley has become one of the biggest Youtube stars. He also does a lot of collabs with other Youtubers and they are always funny.

(It would not let me link his channel, but if you search "Tyler Oakley" all of his videos will come up)

5. David Dobrik

David is a Vlogger. His videos always include his friends and the weird scenarios they get into. Puns and skits are his go to thing. He got his start on Vine and now he is taking over the vlog world!

Here is his channel!

4. Shane Dawson

I don't even know how to explain Shane Dawson's videos. He is one of the most random Youtubers that I've ever watched. He was one of the first Youtubers I ever started watching. He is really big on conspiracy theories now.

Here is his channel!

3. Settle Down Kids or SDK

SDK is absolutely, hands down, my favorite group on Youtube. They post challenges and sometimes they are so random they don't even make sense. I actually had the chance to meet all of them and they were so nice which makes it so much better!

Here is their channel!

2. Any Buzzfeed Channel

If anyone tells you that they don't watch Buzzfeed, they are lying. Over the past year or so, Buzzfeed has taken over the Internet. I can sit for hours and just watch Buzzfeed. They have a couple of channels, but I'll link their main one!

Here it is!

1. Joe Santagato

I've been watching Joe for a couple of years now. He used to be like my little secret, but now almost everyone knows who he is. Joe's videos are hilarious and could definitely make anyone's day! He also has a second channel where he posts Vlog-like videos.

Here is his channel!

(It wouldn't let me link his second channel)

There are so many more Youtube channels that I could list but that would probably take forever! I hope you get a chance to check out any of these channels!

Odyssey Has Been Part Of My Life For Almost 4 Years And I'm Forever Grateful

With over 200 articles later, it's time to say goodbye.

In the summer of 2015, I stumbled upon Odyssey and requested to sign up. I didn't really have much of a background in writing besides school work and the occasional poetry I would write when I was little and, to be honest, I hated writing. A few days later I got the notification that I was now a creator on the FGCU Odyssey team and I was really excited. I still can't tell you what prompted me to join, but I'm so glad I did.

As a content creator, over the past 3.5 years, I have been able to write about anything and everything. I've gotten personal, I've written comical listicles, but what I loved the most was that I finally had a platform to share my thoughts and opinions on. I was able to voice my inner thoughts and share them with friends, family, and strangers. And it turns out, I LOVE writing very much.

What really makes me so grateful is that I have been able to reach others with my writing and people are able to tell me that my writing resonated with them. It's comforting to be able to hear that someone felt the same way as me in my articles. I even had a few people tell me that they cried reading my work. I didn't think I could make that much of an impact.

Three other moments that I'll never forget is when a coffee company contacted me and sent me a box of coffee beans so I can write about them, a poet reached out to have me review her poetry book, and when I wrote about the character, Michael, from "Jane The Virgin" and the actor who played him read it and tweeted me about it.

Odyssey has given me so much experience, not only with writing but with editing as well, having been editor in chief of the team for a year. I managed a team, I watched us grow and learned to be a leader. With over 200 articles later, it's time to say goodbye.

Thank you, Odyssey, for giving me a voice, for giving me skills, for giving me friends, and for helping me discover my passion.
