Some Of The Best Events To Attend

There are a few events in life that no one should miss out on. Of course, this is only my opinion, but I can almost guarantee that tons of people will agree. These events are weddings, under ten birthday parties and baby showers. Let me start off by saying, I do not enjoy events with large groups of people. Unless it is a concert that's outdoors. Otherwise, count me out. But these events that I listed always make me happy whether they are big and boisterous or small and intimate. We all need some happiness in our lives and sometimes we'll get that happiness by knowing that someone else is happy or will be even happier at the end of the day.

Here are a few reasons why weddings, birthday parties and baby showers:

1. Weddings.

For me, weddings take the cake in terms of happiness. We all know (or at least hope) that the bride and groom are happy; they're happy even before they get married. Just the anticipation and the planning can make some brides and grooms ecstatic. The funny, but yet amazing part is that the people who aren't even getting married are super happy themselves. This is one event where the happiness and just plain old good feelings are contagious. First people head into the place where the ceremony will take place, try to find their seat and may even mingle with people from opposite sides of the family and then they watch as the bride walks beautifully down the aisle and then say "I do" along with her new husband. Then there's the reception with the speeches and the funny childhood tales, but best of all there's the dancing! The dancing at the end of weddings allow people to express the residual happiness they're feeling or the happiness that they just can't express through words. But hands down, weddings are one of my favorite events!

2. Birthday Parties (especially for the under-ten crowd).

If you go to birthday parties for little children like your nieces and nephews or younger siblings they can be both fun and funny. They're definitely one of those things you have to experience at least once. Otherwise, you won't know what you're missing. The best part of these birthday parties is the simple things that make children happy. You'll go to a birthday party and the birthday girl or boy gets the gift that Santa forgot to get them last Christmas. It'll be like someone gave them the whole world on a golden tray! It's so fulfilling to watch. The innocent fun that children have is indescribable. That's just how awesome it is. Try to attend at least one, you won't regret it (hopefully).

3. Baby Showers.

The concept of a baby shower can be very comedic. The idea is that people essentially have parties for babies that aren't even born yet. How radical is that? It's crazy that's what it is! It's crazy when you think of it that way. But if you think of it as a party to welcome an unborn baby to the world, while helping the expectant mother with items that their son or daughter will need then it isn't that crazy, is it? What's fun about them is the funny games that they make you play. I've played some games at baby showers that I wouldn't play anywhere else. Another thing is that you get to be a part of the baby's life even before their born. If I haven't convinced you to go to at least one baby shower, just know that they usually give gifts to the winner of the games. That did it, didn't it? I bet you're 100% convinced!

Try to attend these events at least once. If you can be part of the team that puts it all together, that's even better. It's a different kind of happiness with these events. I know I've had fun and cannot wait until the next wedding, birthday party or baby shower.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
