Everyone loves getting their nails done. The trends are always changing: acrylic manicures, gel manicures, shellac manicures and now SNS manicures. SNS, or Signature Nail Systems, is the new, best thing that every girl wants on her nails.

So why the hype?

On their website it states: "SNS has added no less than four vitamins: A, E, D3 and B5, plus calcium, to nourish the growth of healthy nails."

And as for the overall benefits: "SNS dipping powders create a far lighter, more natural covering for the nails. Customers are astonished to find that within weeks of beginning to use SNS, their nails are becoming stronger and healthier — a complete reversal of their normal experience after a visit to the nail salon. SNS has mastered the rare art of creating a brilliant nail solution that both looks and feels completely natural."

In the website's training it includes 14 advantages to using their system, covering polymerization, nail hold-up time and certification of the natural products used. It appears to be similar to acrylic and gel manicures but it doesn't include any of the cons both have; they don't grind down your nails or any use UV lights that can be damaging.

Here's how it's done!

So, is it worth it?

I personally was unsure about it and speculated that it was as good as they claim.

At that time, I had just switched from acrylic to gel because that was supposed to be the best, healthiest thing to get. My nails were destroyed and brittle from years of consecutive sets and the gel manicures that were supposedly to fix them and make them so much better, were doing absolutely nothing — my nails were still the same unhealthy brittle nails. I continued with gel for a few months, and things never changed.

I was stuck in the cycle of putting bad things on my nails because my nails were too thin for me to comfortably live my life with my natural nails. They were brittle and flimsy and would bend and break if you looked at them wrong. I had a friend who tried SNS and fell in love. So I thought, "Hey, why not? My nails are already destroyed! What do I have to lose?" All it took was once, and I was hooked. My nails looked natural but felt so healthy.

My set lasted weeks longer than the acrylics and gel manicures would. After two sets, my entire nail was noticeably stronger and grew so much quicker! Almost a year later, I am still in love with it and could not be happier with my nails. Now I get my nails done as a treat, not because I will be in pain if I don't. Your nails will look amazing and last over a month, and it will be beneficial and no way harmful.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
