Ever since I can remember, I have always been absolutely obsessed and awed by snow. Growing up and currently living in the south means that snow is a celebration in itself. To those who are used to snow, I'm sure it's a whole other perspective.
Being a southern girl means checking the weather app ten times a day in hopes of seeing that little snowflake. During the winter months, you can bet I am constantly on the look out for potential snow.
When the weather app does say it will snow, excitement is all I can feel. The thought of looking up and seeing fluffy snow falling from the sky is pure joy. It's exciting. Snow is something that isn't too common here. It means having classes cancelled and spending the day with your family.
I remember last winter when Georgia got hit with so much snow. No, it wasn't over a foot, but it was a tremendous amount to me. Being able to build snowmen and have your boots sink down into the snow is the most foreign yet amazing feeling.
Because it doesn't happen often, it's so special. My family loves snow just as much as I do. We wear our best snow day outfits then spend ten minutes outside before it gets too cold for us. Then, we drink some hot chocolate and repeat the process. It's always such a cheerful time that each of us cherish.
Some people might be thinking, "it is just snow, calm down," but it isn't just snow to me. Snow is not just frozen rain. It is so much more. It's a gorgeous scenery. It's family time. It's fun and whimsical. I will always love snow.
