Life is full of adventures, memories, happiness, sadness and challenges. So trying to smile every day almost seems impossible. Thomas Paine once said, "The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection." With that in mind, we should never smile only when we are happy. To smile when we are in the darkest moments of our lives shows strength. To smile when we constantly busy is a sign of control.
Sometimes, our lives get crazy and we may forget what day it is (and, occasionally, the month), but we can never fail to do is to smile. Let's look at some reasons why you should smile at least once every day.
1. We never know what day is our last day.
Face it, not all of us are going to live to 100. We take each day for granted and think or say, "I'll do that tomorrow." What happens if tomorrow doesn't happen? Never wait; don't make excuses.
2. No reason to be sad.
Why would you want to go a full day being sad?
3. There is always a reason to be happy.
It could be the silliest reason in the world, but if it makes you smile than it did a good job. It could be someone doing silly faces or a happy memory. What ever the case is, enjoy it.
4. It's contagious.
A smile is contagious; in a crowd full of people who are smiling, how could you resist that?
5. It just makes you happier.
Something about a smile can just cheer you up instantly. Besides, as Lilly Pulitzer once said, "Being happy never goes out of style."
6. It brings you a gift.
Sometimes, the best gift someone can give you is a smile. It's like someone giving you hope and it makes a day brighter.
7. Gives others the gift.
One of the greatest gifts is seeing someone else smile. When you do something for someone else to make them laugh or happy; it gives you an amazing feeling. Spreading the love where ever you go.
8. It relaxes you.
It may sound odd, but when you're stressed out you have panic attacks and feel useless. Next time, just take a deep breath, close your eyes, and think of something happy. It helps lower your stress level.
9. Can help you make new friends.
Have you ever noticed that when you see people smile they automatically seem like they are friendly and more approachable people? Smiling is all in all more attractive.
10. Makes you more productive.
When you're stressed out, you become distracted and lose sight of the work you have to do. When you smile, that can make you happier and that reduces the stress level, which allows you to be more productive and get more work done.
