Wherever you are tonight, whatever you are doing...
partying; family dinner; having a heart to heart; burning the midnight oil; spending it with a loved one; drinking your sorrows; drinking the good times; or just alone with your thoughts, you're not sleeping.
And whatever city you're in St Charles or Seattle there are plenty of things that might keep your mind awake and reeling. Reading through the headline articles of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch it is disheartening to witness the world crumbling around us.

What are you worried about before you go to sleep tonight? Is there something in your life that is bothering you? Money troubles, family, love, friends, work, we all get caught up in our own lives living and the struggle of day to day. But what about the world and your communities? The headlines show that crime, murder, and natural disasters happen everyday. We print life changing events of people's lives everyday; but we read them and toss them aside in seconds if it's not interesting enough.
In this era of information overload, news isn't news anymore because it's overlooked and replaced in seconds. But our global problems remain the same: no equality, not enough water, no homes homes, no food.
There are sleepless nights as the world argues over these issues and how to make them better but they are such massive problems. It's easier to leave them to the big dogs and focus on our smaller, simpler lives. But ignoring these global problems, even the local ones in your community, only shelters you and leaves you uneducated from the real world. My approach to these sleepless nights: have a few, heck have three but then be inspired. Don't let the world and it's headlines get you down...
