Imagine
sitting by a lake and just listening to the surroundings around it.
What do you see and what do you hear? The water is gently rolling and
the fish are constantly jumping in the lake. The lake is full and the
water is still and quiet. We sit on the lakeside and admire God’s beauty
as the sun sets over the water. We see his creation all around the
lake, and the gentle sounds of nature that are surrounding it.
Sometimes in our Christian lives, we get so caught up in the everyday tasks that we forget to just be still and admire God’s true beauty.
Go to the lake and sit there on the lakeside and just be still and listen. Look at the water and just reflect on the peace of the lake. Life can get so stressful and there are times that we get so busy, that we often forget to take the time to just sit and listen to the nature surrounding us. Sit at the lakeside and just look into the water of the still and quiet lake and see God’s beauty for what it is. Take the time to just sit and listen to the gentle whisper of the Lord and watch the quiet and still waters in the lake. Go to the lakeside and watch a sunset and reflect on your life at the lake and see what God has created.
Psalm 46:10 (New International Version) “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Jeremiah 47:6 (King James Version) O thou sword of the Lord, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest and be still.
Be still and listen to the beautiful sounds of nature that surround as the sun sets over the water. Go to the lakeside and know that God is with you and hear the gentle whisper in your ear. Listen to the quiet and still waters of the lake as the sun sets over the water. Be still and listen to the surrounding sounds and the gentle whispers. Go to the lakeside and reflect on the true beauty that God has created. Watch a sunset over the still and quiet waters and know that God is in control. Go to the lakeside and reflect on the true beauty of the Creator, and be still and know that He is there with you. Amen.
