It is the most common sight when you walk into Sparky's — Tables crowded with friends or teammates chatting away while eating pizza or whatever the chefs have cooked up that day. Your eyes will skim around until you spot what you think is an empty table in the sea of people. You will run over hoping to snag your friends a table before they arrive, when you realize that the table isn't as empty as you thought. A single person is sitting there, staring at you with a confused look on their face. You scurry away with a passing thought of "I wonder why they're sitting alone?" Sure, that person could be holding the table for their friends or maybe their friends went to get food, and they weren't hungry. More than likely, if they're like me, they just wanted some peace and alone time.
Here are the five main reasons why I want to sit alone at lunch:
1. I just want to watch YouTube.
2. I'm having a bad day and want to be left alone.
3. I'm about to study for my test in an hour.
4. I just want to eat my pizza in peace.
5. I feel like sitting alone.
