Dear Sissy,
To be real, you kind of annoyed me a lot growing up and I didn't really value your presence. I thought you were an attention-stealing brat, and thus we constantly fought. In elementary and middle school, we didn't have a great relationship. You were just a girl who happened to live in the same house as I did.
But that was a different time. We were both young and immature. It wasn't until we both got older that we started connecting, and I realized how important you are in my life.
Having you as my sister is amazing. You are the one person I can truly count on and trust with my life. Sometimes when I vent to my friends, or tell them secrets, I'm worried they'll either judge me or tell other people. This is why I'm so thankful to have you because I can tell you about any and every issue without having to worry about any consequences.
Throughout life, you learn sometimes friends aren't dependable. You learn sometimes they don't always have your best interests in mind, and you learn sometimes they're extremely toxic psychopaths who enter and exit your life within a matter of weeks. This is why I'm so grateful for you. You're someone I can always depend on. You're the girl I share my life with and the girl I trust the most. You give me the best advice, and you've never steered me wrong.
I hear my friends talk all the time about their poor relationship with their sister, and I'm so grateful that I can't relate to them. It blows my mind how some people rat their sister out for the smallest of issues, because I know I would never do that to you and you would never do that to me. I'm so glad we're not the kind of sisters who try to get each other in trouble. I glad we have such a strong relationship where we look out for each other and defend one another if Mom and Dad get mad at one of us.
I really couldn't picture my life without you. We have a similar sense of humor, a similar taste in fashion and a similar outlook on life. You're always down to tag along whenever I have errands to run, you support my shopping addiction, you show me great new music and you make me "LOL" on the daily.
You impress me every day with how down to earth, genuine and beautiful you are. Even though we'll occasionally fight at the dumbest things, I'm so lucky to have you as a sister. I hope you feel lucky to have me as a sister too because you're kinda stuck with me for life.
Sorry for being so sappy, I just love you lots.
Love,
Your sister
