I'd be lying if I said that every day was a good day for me, although they've been better than ever within the past three to four months. Sometimes things just seem to go your way, and sometimes they seem to go against you; it's just going to happen. I've recently taken some time to reflect on things that I consistently do on the days that have been so good for me.
1. Wake up to something positive.
It really will help shape your entire day. Yes, I know, your alarm isn't really something that brightens up your day when you hear it go off. However, what you do within the next 15 minutes before you actually decide to roll out of your bed will have quite an impact on the rest of your time awake until you go to sleep. I can name a few things that you could do, or you can kind of just roll with it and come up with your own brief morning routine. One thing you could do is wake up next to your significant other and give them a good morning kiss and acknowledge how lucky you are to have that person in your life.
Another option to go with is listening to the current song that you've been feeling so much (there's nothing like singing along to some positive tunes); the birds probably won't join in like they do in Disney movies, but you'll still get a little bit of the "feel goods" going. Another thing that will help out is to reflect on all the good things in your life. We get so caught up in our lives that we forget to realize how lucky we are and how beautiful our lives really are. One final thing you could do is look at some pictures that remind you of a happy time in your life. Replaying some positive memories is a great way to keep yourself in a good mood and reflect on some of the great times you've had in your life.
2. Eat good things.
This is going to be a common thing in all of my articles because I am a firm believer of this. By "good things," I'm talking about good-tasting, healthy foods. Eating healthy foods will provide you with nutrients to help keep you feeling well, and we all know that good-tasting food brings a smile to your face. The combination of these two is bound to help bump your day in the right direction. I also like to make a lot of my meals from scratch, which allows for a little time to relax and not do whatever else has been stressing me out that day. Even better than cooking by yourself is cooking with someone you care about. It's an excuse to catch up and spend some time together while making a delicious meal that may or may not be worthy of an Instagram post or a Snapchat.
3. Get in a workout.
This is also going to be another common thing in my articles. Whether it be lifting weights, going for a run, biking, swimming, rollerblading, or any of the other forms of exercise one can engage in, it's good for you, it helps you relieve stress, and it gives you a rush of endorphins. For those unfamiliar with endorphins, they are chemicals released from your brain that give you a good feeling in your head. Even if you're tired before or after your workout, the endorphins will still be a little mental pick-me-up to further tip the scales in your favor.
4. Communicate and interact with people who matter in your life.

5. Never end the night on a bad note. Never.
This one is so important because a positive mental mind set will allow you to fall asleep a lot easier than a negative or stressed out one, which has a huge impact on your next day. Aside from sleeping, not ending the night on a bad note makes you feel like you've had a better day and that you didn't leave anything lingering that shouldn't have been. Be sure that your last interaction of the day is a good one and that nothing is left hanging and no situation is walked away from. Also, spend a little time to reflect on all of the good things that happened during your day and blank out the negative ones and remember that you are blessed.
