As you get older, you realize more and more how it's the simple things in life that mean the most. This really hit me this morning when I was looking at social media at what people have posted from the weekend.
Almost 90% of those posts and pictures were of people partying, drinking, going out, etc. I sat there and smiled, thinking to myself how happy I was that I didn't spend my night like that. First of all, it was pouring out, and who wants to spend their night out when you can instead spend it in the cozy house with the people that mean the most. Personally, I spent my night with my boyfriend and his family making homemade pizza and brownies, watching movies and snuggling up on the couch.
When I say it's the simple things in life that mean the most, I mean that it's days spent with your family you start to value more and more. It's memories made with people you care about, memories that you'll remember the day after. It's the little things like gossiping and eating popcorn with your girlfriends watching "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" that mean the most.
You can only go out and live that life for so long. Eventually, you grow out of it. Of course, little moments like going out with the girls is fun too, but it's not something I personally would want to be doing all the time.
You'll catch me baking, cooking, laughing, and hanging out in a hoodie and sweatpants with all the people I love around me. Appreciate those around you, especially your family and grandparents. You never know what can happen in life.
Live a life full of making the most out of every minute in your day. Work hard, smile hard, and love the hardest. Learn to appreciate the simple things in life. Life's not always about the parties. You have to grow out of it one day or another.
