Simple Reminders Why Life is Actually Really Awesome

Life is stressful, and it's easy to let a bad day or week get us down. But it's important to remember to appreciate the little things, and realize that overall, life is actually pretty awesome. Here are a few reasons why that will put a smile on your face!

1) 356,000 babies were born today.

2) Thousands and thousands of people came together and shared, tweeted and posted trying to get Kelly, a child battling leukemia, to The Ellen Show; just because it's one of his biggest dreams!

3) The average price of gas has gone down more than a dollar since last year.

4) The voices of Minnie and Mickey Mouse were actually married in real life.

5) American soldiers playing with an adorable Afghani child on a sunny day.

6) This couple announced their pregnancy by remixing a Taylor Swift song ... #genius.

7) This place actually exists (Cinque Terre, Italy).

8) The Today Show is training a puppy named Wrangler to become a seeing-eye dog to be donated to someone in need.

9) Even horses want to be included when their friends take selfies.

10) Nate (Chace Crawford) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) are actually best friends in real life. They were even roommates!

11) And so are Monica and Rachel!

12) There's a company that delivers cookies straight to your front door ... even late-night.

13) Penguins mate for life ... and they propose with a pebble.

14) There is a prison program that encourages inmates to give back to society by training service dogs for those in need.

15) Less than a year ago it took over $1.50 to get one euro. Today it costs less than $1.15. Better exchange rate = more travel!

16) Boy puppies often let girl puppies win while playing in order to get to know them better and keep the game going.

So when you're having a bad day, or things just aren't going your way ... Just take some time to stop and smell the roses. And then maybe you'll be as happy as this puppy!

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.

We all have a love hate relationship with winter, lets be real here. The snow makes people forget how to drive, its cold, the roads are bad, and chances are, you will be spending a lot more money than you do during the other months of the year. If you’re from the Midwest, it seems to be that winter lasts for what feels like forever. But despite the struggles that winter brings, there are so many things to love about it.

The Post Thanksgiving Panic And Anxiety

It happens to all of us, the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas the catch up with you.

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends. That diet you’ve been on for the past month goes out the window, and you get to eat until you put yourself into a food coma. There’s no rush on homework and you can just lie in bed and Netflix to your heart’s content. To me that sounds like an ideally wonderful break, and totally stress-free.
