As the Girl Scouts say, “Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.”
College is the place where we find our bridesmaids. It’s the place where you realize its okay to be really weird. You find friends who will
be weird with you and love you for it. You live with these people and you learn
with them and you change because of them. I have been so blessed to make some
amazing best friends in my time here.
But, I also have amazing best friends from high school. I never thought I would find friends on par. And I was lucky to be wrong.
Never will we ever be in a place with so many people our own age that are simultaneously so similar and yet so diverse. This is the time to
get out there. There are so many people to meet and so many experiences to be
had.
That girl that you sit next to in chapter whom you crack jokes with could be more than just a pal. You could be soulmates, in the bestie sense. Go to Lemongrass with her after chapter. Text that cool girl from your discussion to come over and pregame. Go to lunch with the boy you sit with in Bio.
You can never have too many friends. There are always new people to meet. The best is when your old friends and your new friends become friends, and you all hang out together as one big happy family.
