Growing up most of my best childhood memories were made at my grandmas house.

From birthdays, holidays, or even just Sunday dinners grandma's house was always the warmest and happiest place on earth. When I was a little girl I absolutely adored being around my grandma.

Growing up, I've realized that my Grandma my one biggest blessing I have ever received, and here's why.

1. When mom and dad say no, she says yes

If you were like me when I was a little girl, you sure did know how to get your grandma to be on your side in the middle of a dispute with your parents. We all know we can do no wrong in our grandmas eyes and she was always there to remind you tha

2. She keeps you well fed

Now we all know you will never go hungry as long as grandma is around. From the second you walk into her doors she’s offering you anything and everything she has to offer in the kitchen. She makes sure that you are always well fed, that sometimes she over feeds you to the point that you are wobbling out of her house. You then come to the realization that nothing ever will top your grandma's homemade cooking...not even those five star restaurants.

3. She doesn't care what she says

Grandmas will let anything and everything fly out of their mouths. From the most hilarious things, to the most honest things she will never leave you guessing.

4. She's always there for you when you need help.

You can always count on your grandma for help. I am so thankful to have a grandma who will do absolutely anything to help me when I need it. They are the most reliable and trustworthy people.. Because when they say they are going to help they really mean it.

5. She keeps the best secretes

Grandmas are the absolute best at keeping a secret. I know I can tell my grandma anything in the world and she will never spill it. They always will keep their lips sealed.

6. She's the best shopping partner

There's no one better to go into town with than your grandma. They are the best bargain shoppers and always find the best stuff. Plus who doesn't love grandmas advice when you're trying something on?

7. She's the best listener

Grandmas are the absolute best people to talk to when you need a vent session. I know if i'm having a bad day or even a bad week I can always call my grandma and tell her all about it. She won't mind if you talk her ear off for 3 hours and will always make you feel better after you talk with her.

8. She has the coziest home

There's no better feeling than walking into your grandmas, taking off your shoes, and wrapping up in one of those knitted blankets on the couch. They always have the smell of something cooking or baking in the kitchen which often leads the house to smell like a slice of heaven. You will always feel safe and secure when your in your grandma's cozy home. AND always leave knowing your loved.

9. She has the best past stories

Everyone loves to hear about stories of their mother/father back in the day and no one likes to share those stories more than a grandma. There is nothing better than sitting in the living room and talking about old times with your family members..although some can be rather embarrassing. My grandma always shares the best stories and never fails to impress me from stories when she was young.

10. She loves everyone

No one will ever love harder than your grandma. She will always welcome everyone with a friendly smile an a hug. Wouldn't the world be so much better if we all acted like our grandmas?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
