Being homeschooled is great, it's the bomb-diggity honestly. And there are multiple, multiple ways an individual could experience the homeschool life but most ways have many things in common.

You do have your stereotypical homeschoolers, but you've also got homeschoolers who are nothing like the stereotypes. Overall, I think that us homeschoolers all share a bond in some way or another. We've got a lot in common, more than we probably know.

So here are a few things that I've found to have in common with most homeschoolers that I have met.

1. College assignments are nothing compared to your high school assignments!

I get two weeks to read a book! Heck yeah! And I can actually personalize a report and use APA! Awesome!

Growing up with the high standards homeschoolers are held to college assignments are a breeze.

2. The strict schedule of college still scares you a bit...

Due dates! Ah! No more just pushing it until next week...

3. It feels weird to not be still doing left over homework during the summer.

Like honestly, most summers were spent doing homework i was too lazy to do in the school year. Now I can just sit around and do nothing?! I don't know how to feel!!

4. You had to adjust to not being able to work ahead to take days off school anymore...

Attendence actually matters now. I can still work ahead but that doesn't mean I can skip class! No more extra days off for me.

5. The word “Saxon” still drives fear into your heart and soul...

Saxon math is probably one of the most terrifying experiances ever....

6. You can and love to quote 'The Princess Bride'.

"Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam… And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv."

7. You kind of miss when your classroom was your bedroom...

Getting to stay in bed all day was one of the best parts of your day.

8. It’s a relief that staying in your pajamas all day is still acceptable in college!

Pajamas are the comfiest articles of clothing ever created! Who wouldn't want to snuggle up in them all day?

9. When the phrase “so how do you like going to an actual school?” starts to get annoying...

Homeschool is actual, legitmate school. It may not be public school, but I do still have a diploma.

10. You’re not afraid to admit 3/4's of your favorite movies are indeed musicals...

Who doesn't love those talented singers and dancers?! Just watching them makes you strive to be a better person and lots of them have catchy toe-tapping songs!

11. Riding a bus is still kind of exciting for you!

When you never got to ride in a school bus its going to be pretty exciting when that opportunity comes. You act all non-chalant when people complain about the bus, but secretly, you're super excited.

12. If you know where in the world Carmen Sandiego actually was...

The 90s animated half hour episodes that followed the Acme Detective Agency were some of the best shows that actually taught you something! Not to mention the multiple games!

Can't wait for the new 2019 animated series and Netflix's live action movie!

13. A secret pleasure was and always will be playing Ages of Empires...

15. Your favorite channel growing up was TV Land.

"I Love Lucy," "Bewitched," "The Andy Griffith Show," "I Dream of Jeanie" and were and still are some of the greatest shows created!

16. If a dream of yours is to ride in the TARDIS...

Who doesn't want to travel through time with a mad man in a box??

17. You're still the go-to for questions your younger siblings might have.

Been there done that, and your younger siblings know that. If mom or dad doesn't know you're bound to!

18. The SATs struck fear into your heart and they still bring back bad memories...

Memorizing the keyboard so you could type the fastest of all your friends and do it under the table if needed! Not to mention pay only when you run out of texting minutes, best deal yet if you knew how to save!

20. When you hear the book title “Grapes of Wrath” you can’t help but think of hillbilly grapes...

"We are the grapes of wrath, we'll never take a bath. It is our style to seldom smile and never laugh! We are the grapes of wrath, so stay out of our path. There's no escape from cranky grapes, we are the grapes of wrath!"

And you probably just sang that...

21. If you celebrate that college has snow days!

Snow days for you did not exist until college!

22. People still apologize for swearing in front of you, even though you couldn’t give a f*ck!

Yeah, just because I don't swear doesn't mean you have to apologize for swearing in front of me. I didn't ask you to and I'm not so sheltered that I've never heard one before.

23. You love Sherlock but watching that *one* episode with your family was awkward...

Yeeeeeah we don't talk much about Miss Adler....

24. You often forget to write your name at the top of your college assignment...

When you've been the only student in your class for so long, it's easy to forget.

25. If you still like those old movies better than the new stuff.

Giphy

Look, it took real talent to make it big back in the "olden days" and that true talent made those movies truly the best.

26. You weren’t allowed to have a Facebook/Twitter until you were 16.

And by that time snapchat was the new thing but you've only been approved to have facebook or twitter!

27. If you’ve ever gotten into a debate about what "Pride and Prejudice" movie rendition is better...

Considering the rendition with Kiera Knightly is the only one I have seen, I will argue it's the best. I have heard the Colin Firth one is good as well.

28. You’ve ever heard “wait you’re a homeschooler? I would have never guessed!”...

"But you seem so cool!"

Riiiiight... so now am I not cool?

29. You’re first PG-13 movie was “Pirates of the Caribbean” or “Fellowship of the Ring”!

For me it was Harry Potter but most of the homeschoolers I have met, it was one of these.

30. You read all 30 of these!

If you have looked through all 30 of these, there is a very high chance you are or know a homeschooler.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
