There's a reason everyone has that one special friend that gets the label 'best'. Good friends are great, and great friends are hard to come by, but having someone to call your best friend is truly a blessing. It is a relationship that goes beyond the boundaries of a typical friendship. It is someone you feel completely yourself around, so much so that they have begun to feel like family.

And, speaking of family, some best friend relationships don't merely exist between two individuals. If you're lucky enough to find someone you click with so easily, you may just find yourself as a part of their family... literally.

The signs are all there! You know you're a part of your best friend's family when:

1. Knocking is never necessary.

When you enter each other's homes, as long as the front door is open, you just let yourself in. Knocking is just an inconvenience.

2. You never grocery shop alone.

Whether it's with your best friend, their siblings, or even their parents, you always somehow have a buddy when picking out food for the week. (Which is helpful because you'll be at each other's houses so much, you better hope you pick out food you both like.)

3. If you have no food at your own home, theirs is always available.

Out of vegetable oil? Run to your best friend's home quickly to get some. No lunch in the fridge? Run to your best friend's home to see what they have. No dinner plans? Run to your best friend's home.

4. You are always invited to stay for dinner.

When you're at your best friend's house around dinner time, their parents don't even bother asking if you're staying... or what you want, for that matter, because they already know!

5. You are also always invited to family parties.

It's basically a given that when your best friend mentions a family party, you're welcome too. And, thankfully, you already know most of the family anyways!

6. You are no strangers to carpooling.

You're lucky enough to have a best friend whose family is willing to be your chauffeur from time to time, especially when you really need it.

7. Two words: family vacations.

Your best friend's family is going on a trip? You're going on a trip.

8. "Are you guys related?"

Everyone always asks.

9. You never need to make extravagant plans.

You're completely fine going over to their house and just sitting on their couch, binge watching television all day.

10. You go over to their house... even when they're not actually home.

...because their family is yours too and you love hanging out with them just as much.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
