The earliest reference to sushi in history was in the year 718. If you do the math, that's 1,300 years that people have been eating and loving sushi, including myself.

I always said that I would never eat sushi because the thought of eating something raw made me nauseous. That was until I tried it.

I will never forget the first time I tried sushi. I was at a food court with my church's youth group after a whitewater rafting trip and my friend decided to be brave and get sushi from this sketchy booth at the food court.

She convinced me to try a piece of her California roll and I absolutely loved it. Ever since then, I have been obsessed with sushi and trying new rolls. It's definitely very high on my list of favorite foods. Here are some signs that you're obsessed with sushi just like I am.

1. It's always your go to for a meal

Italian or sushi? Sushi. Mexican or sushi? Sushi. Fast food or sushi? Sushi, always sushi.

2. Your friends are concerned with how much you eat sushi

"I really want sushi for lunch." - Me

"What a shock." - Everyone I know

3. You're willing to drive hours to get the best sushi

When you find a new sushi place and you must have it, you are willing to drive HOURS to try it.

4. Your wallet shows your obsession

It's not abnormal to spend your whole paycheck on sushi.

5. You know what to order, depending on where you are eating

Let me tell ya what I want.

6. You try to convince every one of your friends to at least try a piece of sushi

It's so satisfying when they try it and even more satisfying when the LOVE it.

7. Nothing else could replace your love for sushi

It is, and always will be your number 1.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
