10 Signs You're Unapologetically Ready For #PSL Season, Even If It's 110 Degrees Out

Fall is just around the corner, and with all of the color changing leaves and pumpkin spice lattes to welcome your favorite season, here are some more signs that you can't wait.

Autumn time is precious in my heart and I know in many others, too. It is beautiful weather, a perfect time to get close to your family and just be happy in general.

1. Smelling the air for the crisp, fall scent.

One of the best things about autumn is being able to walk to class or go to work with the windows rolled down because of the wonderful and refreshing feeling you get with the cool and crisp air that fall brings. So, if you are walking outside and you sniff the air when a cool breeze blows by, you may be ready for fall.

2. Prematurely pulling out the sweaters and leggings.

If you are pulling out your favorite sweaters, hoodies, and leggings from the previous years, or going out to buy new ones, you are totally craving autumn. Every day you will walk past that stack of fluffy, cozy, warm clothing that you pulled out of storage and remember that you are one day closer to being able to wear it daily.

3. Already looking for Halloween-themed food in grocery stores.

If you're anything like me, the first thing that I do when it gets to be September is go to the local grocery store and look for all of the Halloween themed cereals, Oreos, and sugar cookies I can find. Searching for things like Count Chocula cereal, or the sugar cookies with the Halloween pictures printed on them, or the orange creme Oreos, can mean that even your taste palette is looking forward to the Halloween season.

4. You are already asking about the PSL at Starbucks.

Pumpkin spice lattes are seemingly the staple food for the fall season. If looking desperately at the Starbucks menu and finding this drink makes you ecstatic inside and makes you want to put on riding boots and a knit scarf, then you are so ready for autumn.

5. You're looking forward to bonfires with your friends.

This one is pretty self-explanatory. I know I am already planning the late-night, hot chocolate-induced giggles with your friends around a fire.

6. You're already dreaming of your Halloween costume.

Something cute or something scary, some kind of costuming for Halloween is on your mind.

7. You're getting rid of the tied up hair.

Over the summer, it is essential to have long hair tied up in a bun or a ponytail to keep it off your sweating back. As the cooler air begins to come around, taking your hair down and allowing the hair tie dent in your hair to relax makes you realize that the 'hair-down' season is about.

8. You're not as miserable being outside.

During the first few months of fall, it can still be super hot outside and it is completely awful to walk to class or get in your car after it sitting in the sun all day, but as the months go on and the sun is a little further from us, it is nice to finally not walk outside and immediately start sweating.

9. You can't wait for horror movie marathons to come on TV.

Everyone's favorite part of autumn is finally being able to turn on the television and seeing that channels have started playing classic horror movies like "Halloween" and it's sequels, "Monster House," and other throwback movies.

10. You're excited for your electricity bill to be lower cause you can open your windows.

The air this time of year is crisp and fresh, and it's perfect weather for airing out the house after a whole summer of being closed up. Cracking open the windows and doing a thorough cleaning is the perfect way to welcome the new season and prepare yourself for the beautiful weather to come.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
