13 Signs That You Grew Up In Eddystone, Pa.

Eddystone is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. It has to be the best borough in Delaware County. If you don't agree, then don't tell someone from Eddystone unless you want to start an argument. Even though it might have gotten a little worse since I was younger, I will always have love for my hometown. Growing up in Eddystone was awesome. I made so many memories that I will cherish forever, friends I'll never forget, and learned lessons that I will remember for the rest of my life. Here is a list of aspects of my childhood in Eddystone that I remember fondly.

1. The smell of the chocolate factory.

Usually every morning walking to school, or waiting for the bus I would smell the chocolate factory. You either like the smell, or hated the smell.

2. Playing kick ball in the cage.

Every day at recess, and after school everyone would go to the park behind the school to play a good game of kick ball or wall ball.

3. Hanging out at the park behind the school.

The park behind the school was the hang out place. You would see everyone hanging out there.

4. Sledding on Dead Man's Hill.

Every time it snowed you would catch everyone sledding down the Dead Man's Hill. Every time you would hear the train coming everyone would slide down. Also hearing the big rumor that a train went off the rails, and went down the hill.

5. Having to hear people downgrade Eddystone because Chester was right next to us.

When people wouldn't even come to Eddystone, but judged because of the location.

6. Going to hang out at Wal-Mart.

Wal-mart was the also a big hang out place for kids in Eddystone. Me and my friends would spend everyday in Wal-Mart.

7. Going to Vicki's.

Vicki's is one of the best delis in Eddystone. Since Ann's closed down, its the only deli in Eddystone now. Most of my summer I would go there and get a water ice.

8. Going to Ann's.

Ann's was also a awesome little deli in Eddystone. My favorite thing to get in Ann's was the breakfast sandwiches. So sad they closed down!

9. Going to Sciarrino's.

Sciarrino's was the best little pizza shop. They always had awesome food, and the people working there were always really cool.

10. You knew basically everyone.

Since Eddystone was so small, everyone knew each other or at least heard of each other.

11. Calling your best friend your cousin.

Everyone was "related" somehow. Everyone would call their best friends their cousins. If we were to make a family tree of the families in Eddystone, somehow we would all be on the same tree.

12. Hearing the curfew bells.

Every night at 8:45, the curfew bells would go off and that's when most people knew it was time to go in. If you didn't go in when the bells went off, you better not run into the cops. They take the curfew seriously, and will follow you until you walked in your door.

13. Going to the parades and fireworks.

In Eddystone, there were always big events going on for holidays. On Christmas, Santa gave out presents. For Memorial Day there was a big parade, fireworks, trips riding on top of the fire truck around Eddystone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
