11 Signs You Are Too Emotionally Involved With A TV Show

Hi, my name is Tressa, and I too am emotionally involved with Sam Winchester and Daryl Dixon.

I am a lover of TV shows. Once I find a show that I love, I tend to get a little obsessed with them. I laugh, I stress, I worry and I cry with the characters on the show. Some of my favorite TV shows are “The Walking Dead,” “Supernatural,” “Game of Thrones,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Gossip Girl” and “Nashville,” along with a few others.

In addition to loving the shows, I am also a lover of some of the characters in the shows. Once you watch the show for a couple of years, you start to get attached to the characters; they really start to grow on you. A downside to loving a character too much, however, would be that you get a little too emotionally involved with what happens to them.

1. You spend hours obsessing after an episode.

Something awful happen to your favorite character? Do you spend hours thinking about it after the fact? Why did he get shot?! Is he going to die?! Seriously, what is going to happen?!

2. You find out everything about the actors, as in their life stories.

Whether you find this out from Pinterest, Google, YouTube, or somewhere else, there is a vast amount of information out there. For example, did you know Norman Reedus was once a model and thought his career was over when he got into a car wreck? He has a titanium eye socket and four screws in his nose.

3. Their struggle is your struggle.

You cry when they cry. You feel their pain when they are hurt.

4. Pinterest becomes your new best friend.

Ever spend hours looking up memes and posts about your favorite show and character? Pinterest can give you sad, funny and happy posts for about any show you want.

5. Or Tumblr, take your pick.

Though I am not versed in the world of Tumblr, I do come across Tumblr posts on Twitter and Pinterest and they are pretty great for someone obsessed with a TV show.

6. You live for the episodes featuring your favorite character.

“The Walking Dead” season 6 episode 6, you’re welcome.

7. You re-watch old episodes.

After sinking into the depression after a season finale, you try and fill the void by re-watching old episodes. This can either bring back the joy of remembering favorite episodes or bring heartbreak at seeing how far your favorite character has come. Season 1-4 Sam and Dean versus season 9-12 Sam and Dean: trust me, there is a difference and it will break your heart.

8. You follow the actors on all of their social media accounts.

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, all of it. You have to keep up with what is going on in their lives.

9. You make it your life mission to watch every single episode, no matter what is going on in your life.

Wednesday and Sunday nights are the nights you live for. So grab your snacks grab the wine and prepare for a heart wrenching new episode.

10. Meeting one of the actors or going to a comic con event is on your bucket list.

Meeting or being in the same room, for that matter, as your favorite character would make you content with life.

11. If your favorite character has a high possibility of dying, you will riot...or cry incessantly for weeks...whichever comes first.

You know what we say, “If Daryl dies, we riot.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
