Even though it is summer vacation right now for most of us, there are still a few people that are taking summer classes for one reason or another. This list can be an asset to any student at any time of the year. Here are the ten best shows to binge watch instead of studying, in no particular order.
1. "Gossip Girl"
If you like fast paced dramas then this is definitely a show that you might like. Gossip Girl follows the lives of privileged teenagers that are growing up on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Grow with them as they experience what life is like growing up with powerful parents and an almost endless source of money.
2. "The Magic School Bus"
Okay, bear with me on this one. I know what you’re thinking; “The Magic School Bus, why would I want to watch such an old children’s show?” When all you’ve been doing is studying for a few hours and you just want to take a break, watching a show that you used to when you were child can relax you instantly and make you feel like a kid again, if only for a while.
3. "Criminal Minds"
If you’re in the mood to watch some criminals get put away, this is the show for you. It’s another fast paced show, with equal parts drama and action. While watching this crime series, you fly around the country with a team of FBI agents as they investigate the activities of serial killers across the United States.
4. "Fringe"
Here’s a show for anyone that likes weird things. An FBI agent is tasked with working with a scientist that was formerly held in a mental institute and his son that is a former con artist. They are investigating different phenomena that are affecting the east coast of the United States.
5. "Family Guy"
Everyone knows this show, and it’s a great way to keep yourself distracted if you’re avoiding studying. It follows the life of a normal American man and the crazy antics that he gets himself and his family into. If you’re looking to laugh for a little while instead of sob over your next test, then this is the show for you.
6. "The Office"
Here’s another funny show; it’s a mockumentary (mock documentary) that follows the life of an office manager at a paper company in Scranton, PA. it captures all of their awkward and hilarious encounters with their boss and other colleagues on a day to day basis.
7. "Pretty Little Liars"
This is a story based off of a book series of the same name. it follows four teen girls; Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily as they mourn their missing best friend and leader. We see how they react to a person trying to torment them and release the secrets that they all shared with their friend Alison who went missing.
8. "Friends"
This is a well-known and well-loved sit com about a group of friends that live in Manhattan. We get to see things about their everyday lives over the course of ten years. You can see their family troubles, romances, job issues, laughs, tears, and surprises. Through it all, they ultimately learn what it means to be a true friend.
9. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
If you like action and fantasy this is a great show to watch, you get see the Slayer as she learns more and more about the stuff of legends, and fights of “bad guys” that are trying to open up the mouth of Hell in her small town of Sunnydale, California.
10. "American Horror Story"
If you happen to be scared out of your mind because of an upcoming exam, why not keep the fun going and watch a horror show. It’s great because each season starts a new story and there are new ways to freak out each time.
