Shows Every Basic College Girl Should Watch

College is a time of adventure, discovery, and binge-watching TV shows. When you're at school, you usually spend a lot of time procrastinating and avoiding all responsibilities. If you're ever in need of a show to fill the void, try watching one of these.


1. The Office

In my opinion, this is the greatest television show of all time. The characters are all insane and the storylines are ridiculous. Escape your stressful everyday life and go to the wonderful land of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.


2. Gossip Girl

Ever wonder what it's like to be an uber rich socialite from the Upper East Side? Watch Gossip Girl, and get absorbed in all the drama and possibly the greatest love story of our time (Chuck and Blair).


3. Friends

I'll give you two reasons to watch OTH, Nathan and Lucas Scott.

5. Parks and Recreation

Personally, I'll watch anything with Amy Poehler. But if she's not enough of a reason, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, and Chris Pratt should be.


6. Criminal Minds

I'll admit, this show is definitely not for the faint of heart. However, if you like shows that have more twists and turns than a rollercoaster you should give Criminal Minds a chance.


7. How I Met Your Mother

The most legen-wait for it-dary 9 year story of all time.


8. House

Dr. House's dark sense of humor and the unpredictable medical cases make this show a complete 10/10.


9. Greek

This show is so completely underrated. It's based in college student stereotypes and and the pressures of going away to school. I highly recommend it to anyone adjusting to college life.


10. Sons of Anarchy

SOA is a nice reminder of what can happen when you don't go to college. Also, there are a lot of illegal shenanigans that take place that are completely bad ass.


11. Weeds

Trust me, you will never be able to guess what happens next in Weeds. Nancy Botwin is a damn icon and Silas isn't too hard to look at either.


12. Revenge

Being from Long Island I'm totally biased, but a show that's about a strong young woman taking down rich people in the Hamptons sounds incredible to me.


13. Family Guy

I've yet to meet one person that has said they don't like Family Guy. If you're looking for a little more comedy in your life you should try this show.


14. Orange Is the New Black

OITNB is the definition of girl power and the witty comments are always on point.


15. Law and Order: SVU

Olivia Benson is arguably the biggest boss lady TV show character of all time, and makes this show more than worth watching.


16. Grey's Anatomy

This show will take your heart, rip it out, and do a mariachi dance all over it. But, it'll probably make you feel a lot more thankful for all your loved ones.


17. Pretty Little Liars

PLL will make you grateful that all you have to worry about is a 10 page paper.


A Netflix and Hulu subscription should cover just about all your basic bases. Binge on, ladies.
