Senior year of high school seems like so long ago and just yesterday at the same time. I still remember the stress and excitement it held. To my friends still stuck in the last stretch of high school, this one's for you.
First off, I'm so proud. Even though we're living different lives now, keeping up with yours and your achievements fill me with so much joy and happiness. This year is so exciting for you, with college acceptances, prom and the senior trip all happening -- I'm so glad I can still be a part of it with you.
I miss you so much. I know I'm really busy, and you're all really busy too, but just know that I always keep tabs on you and stay updated with your lives even if we don't talk for a couple days. You're going places, and when you do, I'll still be following every step of the way.
I know this year is hard; I remember, because I was there a year ago. It's stressful and seems like it'll never be over, or the good parts will never come. Trust me, just hang in there and put your best foot forward, and you'll be absolutely fine. The tough parts don't last forever, even if they seem like they do. But you have to make sure to enjoy every fleeting second of the good times, because they are exactly that: fleeting.
You're almost there; graduation is only three months away. You're committing to colleges, or hearing back from some of your choices still, which is a really scary time. After graduation, you have to head out into the unknown. Picking where to go is really intimidating. I know you'll make the right decision for yourself, and wherever you wind up will be extremely lucky to have you.
Keep making me proud, and keep moving forward. This year, however stressful it may be, is still amazing and really special. You should do everything you can to enjoy it, and I'll try my hardest to help with that, too. I can't wait to scream your names and cry like the nostalgic college student I am at your graduation. And even after you graduate, you'll still be my favorite ex-high schoolers to keep up with and cheer on from the sidelines. No matter what, you'll make me proud, and I'll always be your biggest fan.
Love,
"Mom" (aka your friend who graduated and still annoys you on a daily basis but you love anyway)
