Throughout high school and the early college years, many of us students work part-time jobs to cover at least a portion of our expenses. In high school, these are often minimum wage jobs in the fast food or customer service industry. Then, upon entering college, these jobs are often more aligned with your major or pay a bit better. Either way, no matter how old you are or how much money you are making, you should enjoy every job you are hired at.

This is no easy task, so choose carefully. I have worked a series of part-time jobs throughout the years, and each one was a little better than the last. I have worked at ice cream shops, city pools, and daycares. All of them were fun in their own ways, but it was not until recently that I found a job that I find extremely rewarding and enjoyable. Not only do I get to brighten kids' days or teach them interesting lessons, I also get to have fun, be active, and get some experience for my future career at the same time. There are so many benefits to my job, so the fact that I make a little over minimum wage does not even phase me. The hours I spend at work pass by quickly, and the pay just seems like an added bonus to it all. It was this experience that has truly taught me that the money matters less than how you feel about what you're doing. If you love your job, whether that job is flipping hamburgers or something related to your future career path, your life will be that much better. The work day will pass quickly and you will be more open to all the learning experiences a job can offer.

High school and college are the ultimate time to experiment with various part time jobs and find what makes your life feel a little more complete. Take the opportunity.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
