Being happy all of the time can be a challenge and is almost impossible. Everybody has bad days and everybody is sad sometimes. However, I believe that you have the power to change your mood (to a point). Focusing on living a positive, happy life is the best investment you can make. Leading a happy life is possible, even when it seems like it is unattainable. Here are a few reasons why you should choose happiness.

1. You deserve it!

Everyone deserves to be happy and feel good inside. Especially you!

2. Why not?

I know everybody has those battles that they are secretly fighting, but try your best to push them aside even if it is only for a minute. Take five minutes and do something that makes you happy, and make that a priority even on the worst days.

3. Every bad day is temporary.

No matter what, everyone has an occasional bad day. Since it may be hard to be all smiles on these days, just try to do something you love to do. Go relax, go shopping, eat some ice cream and just make yourself content with the bad day.

4. You only live once.

Today could be your last, so why bother moping around? Go get the world!

5. It's just more fun.

Nobody ever starts out an awesome story with, "I was in the worst mood and crying in my room. It was so fun."

6. Your smile is beautiful.

Somebody out there loves your smile. They probably look forward to seeing it everyday, and would hate for you to hide it from the world.

7. You will feel better.

Look in the mirror at yourself and force a smile. I know it sounds dumb, but it works and it will at least make you laugh at yourself.

So please, make the best of everyday even when it is hard to do so. Keep smiling and start loving your life!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
