Being small has its good times

Being small has its good times

Being short is not always a bad thing. Yes, you can be the butt of all jokes and constantly made fun of. You may need to carry a stool where ever you go because you just cannot reach. There are several good things that can be good about being short.

1. You can wear as high of heels as you want

You can where any size heel that you prefer. No matter the size of the heel you will never be taller then people but you will be able look better in some heels than taller people.

2. You can hide and fit into small places

You are able to play hide and seek better than anyone else. You can try and fit into suitcases. It may not be very comfortable to be in a suitcase but you can make it work. You can crawl under things to get around. The only bad side people will ask you to grab their stuff for them.

3. You can pass as a child sometimes which can mean cheaper prices

A good thing about being small and looking like a child you can still order off of the children's menu and will not be judged for it. You can also play on the playground and be small enough to still be able to crawl around tight spaces.

4. The taller people become human shields

You can take shelter from anything by using your taller friend. Whether it is to avoid a person you do not like or from the elements of nature. Either way it is always good to have a tall friend for times like this.

5. Your feet never reach the ground when sitting in a chair

One thing is that no matter how you sit your feet will never touch the ground. You are able to sit criss cross apple sauce on the chair without falling over. You will also be able to swing your feet easier.

6. When you climb things you gain upper body strength

You will never be able to reach everything that you need but when you climb to get things that you need you are able to gain upper body strength.

7. Tall People let you go in front of them at places

Tall people will feel really guilty about being in your way so they will have you go in front of them. Isn't that nice?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
