What To Do During Short Holidays The Right Way

Improve your life by making the best of short times.

If you are a hard worker in the office or wherever it is that you work, then you must know the importance of making the best of any time-off you have no matter how brief.

The human body works like a machine and requires that you cool it down every now and then.

A good cooperation knows the importance of a time-off which is why they let their staffs go on leave vacations and other short breaks. By the time the staff returns, he will be all refreshed and the organization would be better for it.

But It is not all the time you get long leaves; sometimes the only time-offs you get are during public holidays, festive periods, and even weekends, but you can still make the best of it.

1. Take a short trip.

Going on trips during breaks is necessary for a lot of reasons.

For one, leaving your familiar environment breaks you out of your work bubble that keeps you all stressed out and tensed.

You don’t have to fly all the way to Shanghai (unless you are on a really long break and you have enough resources).

You could go on inter-state trips or go on camping or fishing trips if that’s what you are into.

In whatever you choose, do not go on a tedious trip that would leave you fatigued and unprepared for work by the time you are due to resume.

2. Cook.

There is no better time to try your hands at cooking than during short breaks and weekends?

Experts believe that whipping up meals every now and then helps to reduce stress and anxiety, and even heals broken hearts.

Plus you have to eat.

Start small. Clean up your utensils, try your hands at light meals like French fries and breaded fried shrimps. Don’t attempt meals that would frustrate you. Purchase cooking aids like the air fryers talked about on The Housewire.

Knowing how to fix one or two meals won’t that much of a terrible idea.

3. Watch TV with your family.

It sounds so cheesy I know, but sometimes all you need to feel motivated ahead of work is to gather the troops, sit in the living room and just watch TV.

Chances are you are always too exhausted or too busy on every other day, and so you can hardly find the time to watch TV with the kids.

Take advantage of shorts breaks to bond with them in front of the TV, share laughs and relax.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
